Jewels at Joules!

Last week Jimmy and I popped into town to see the new Autumn/Winter collection at Joules. The adult stuff is of course lovely, I was impressed with the men’s collection and saw some gorgeous jackets I just know Jonny would love and I also saw a fair few bits I wouldn’t mind for me but it was the children’s clothes which really caught my eye.

I am very particular about what my children wear and I like, if anything, a touch of the old-fashioned. When I was told Joules had re-vamped their design philosophy to include a bit more of a modern take I was a tiny bit worried they may have done that at the expense of their charm but of course they’re not that silly and everything was just so! The prints may be a little more contemporary these days but somehow it still works and they’ve not forgotten their floral signatures so I was happily ticking away box after box in my mental list of the things I wanted to buy!

It was interesting to discover the winner of The Great British Bake Off, Frances Quinn, had been one of the designers on board for this season’s collection and she was in house to offer not only her fashion advice but also to provide yummy cakes and biscuits! Joules turned 25 this year and her celebration cake showed exactly why she was the winner of the show, even if now it means Joules have lost her as a fashion designer which clearly she is just as talented at!

Frances Quinn, Joules designer and Great British Bake Off winner designed the birthday cake to celebrate 25 years of the brand!

So… What did we find that we liked? Oh loads! Take a look!

For me and Jonny I could have picked out tonnes but these were my two fave pieces! I love a thin denim dress and the cut on this one is gorgeous. I also really like Jonny in a tweed jacket, love the elbow patches on this one!

Boys have a brilliant choice this year! The dungarees are perfect and the pants come in lots of funky patterns which Jimmy noticed. We are about to start potty training as he’s super interested and I think funky pants might be a helpful part of it! The materials used in the collection are quirky like the felt feel to the checked trousers, Jules is a little bit different and I like that!

For the girls, as always at Joules, the choices were so plentiful it was very tricky narrowing down my favourites so here are just a few! Absolutely fabulous knitted leggings and so many accessories perfect for a little girl!

Of course what do Joules do best? Wellies of course and the collection for Autumn/Winter didn’t disappoint! I loved the girl’s versions for this year and I also thought the boy’s snow boots wer fab!

It wasn’t just clothes though, there was plenty of gorgeous home wear including bedding and garden furniture which would compliment any home!

And as if that wasn’t enough, I was told Joules have just branched out into glasses and with Vision Express have an exclusive collection! They invited me to a party to launch them in the evening where I had an eye test and was given a par of sun glasses of my choice as a present! How kind! I instantly fell for the Southwold Blue (£70) but the choice was pretty extensive and of course they have even more for prescription glasses wearers, something I have told my Mum about for her own next choices!

The glasses in the evening were fashionable, unusual and colourful. I liked them very much, especially my new Southwold Blue sunnies! I’m looking forward to them arriving soon!

We had a great day at Joules, especially Jimmy who was thrilled to bits to see all the ‘atimals’ as he calls them, especially his favourite, ducks! Thanks for having us and we’re looking forward to hitting the shops soon!
