Zippos Circus – Unchained!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Last year we went to see Zippos circus and had a thoroughly brilliant time! We went for their press day at Easter and when we were invited again this year, having also seen them at Winter Wonderland in between, we were upset that the date clashed with a holiday and simply had to ask them if we could instead, come at a later date! They were very kind and said we could so Friday night I took the children to East Ham and Zippos new 2014 show, ‘Unchained’!

As soon as we got out of the tube and onto the street Florence was following the posters in every shop window directing us to the park where the big top has set up home and when we got there she looked amazed and said ‘it REALLY is the same circus but in a different place! How?’ I explained how the circus works and I think she found that quite magical! We looked at the mobile horse homes and wondered at how such a big tent gets taken down, packed away and then put back up again in another location and then we went inside! To our ringside seats! We’ve never been ringside before!

Arriving at the circus!

What I really like about the circus is that the performers are all so amazingly talented and work so hard in their pieces yet they are all mucking in and selling candy floss, spinning plates and serving behind the ticket stand… There don’t seem to be airs and graces, no stars and under dogs! They really do seem like a giant family. And they ARE so incredibly talented! I was yet again amazed at the wonderful things we saw and yet again have to thoroughly recommend Zippos! And there are horses! Which are fabulous and if you’re sitting ring side then quite scary too as they LOOK like they’re coming right at you but of course they don’t!

And they have the Rastelli Clowns this year too! A family of clowns which has been passing the baton down through generations since Oreste Rastelli Senior was born in 1900! Their story is awesome so it’s well worth buying the programme to have a read of their tale!

Lots of gasping and lots of oohing from us and another thoroughly enjoyable visit! Take a look at some of the amazing things we saw at the circus!

Check out Zippos website to see when they will be near you at www.zipposcircus.co.uk.

I was offered complimentary tickets for the purpose of an honest review.
