You always hear about toys shops running out when it gets to Christmas and parents running around from shop to shop trying to find the toy their little ones have asked for because the parents have left it until last minute! Well, that happened to me for the first time last year and I ran around everywhere trying to find it. For some reason I didn’t go to Argos first and I really regret that decision as it was indeed Argos that found me my prized toy!
I’ve always shopped at Argos and really like that you do the actual shopping from the comfort of your own home! As a child I loved flicking through the catalogue looking at the toys and Florence loves to do the same now. It takes the hassle out of shopping and you can even find out on line if they have in stock what you’re looking for. More than that you can reserve it so that it doesn’t flee by the time you arrive in store! Hassle free shopping for me and fun looking at the pictures for the children! I have a little bit of a soft spot for them for another reason too, Florence’s first modelling job was for the Argos catalogue!
Yesterday we got to go and see their wares for Christmas 2013! The most important bit for us was that we got to see their top toys! How exciting!

We loved the Furby! It was the first time Florence had seen one and she really liked the interactive play. Of course we didn’t even see half of what it can do as it links up to an ipad. Other things we likes the look of from the list were the Nerf although we were a little young, the Flying Fairy who was so sweet and Monopoly Empire really caught my eye as I’m a fan of the game! This is a new a different version where yo build up an empire of businesses rather than properties and it’s faster too taking only around half an hour to play!
It wasn’t just the top toys we enjoyed playing with though!
We had really good fun playing with lots of things but one toy in particular caught Florence’s eye and she took it round everywhere with her. Even Jimmy liked it! The Furreal baby monkey was an enormous hit! So sweet and mimics a real baby. Tickle her, swing her, feed her banana milk! She was so sweet!
Argos obviously sell everything else besides toys of course and they have some super TV’s including very reasonably priced 3D ones and they even have their own tablet this year which I liked the look of for the whole family! One other thing that caught my eye was Andrew Barton’s new range of salon strength hair products. The hair dryer is SO light!
Oh and guess what else?! The aliens from the advert are also going to be on sale – too cute!
Argos looks all set for Christmas!
