Compare 4 Kids!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

Would I like to review a website for a competition? The website sells things for children from funiture and bedding to toys, gift and games. Ordinarily this wouldn’t interest me but I just had to have a look at the website and see what it was all about before I dismissed it and what I found was really rather interesting.

The website is Compare4kids.co.uk and before I go into some of the reasons why I like it I have to tell you about the biggest draw! The prices. They’re really, very good. Almost as if someone has personally selected the best deals in the market place and put them in front of you without you actually having to do the work. The reason, I have found on further delving, is because that is exactly what Compare4Kids do! They don’t actually sell anything themselves but scour top UK online retailers, including Very, Next, John Lewis, Great Little Trading Company, The White Company, and more to find out the very best deals and then… They point you in the right direction… Pretty simple and easy and pretty good for the consumer don’t you think!

I was challenged, or rather Florence was, to make herself a little wishlist up to the value of £100 using Compare4Kids gift finder. Well she doesn’t really understand money so I asked her ‘Do you want a big thing or lots of little things?’ and inevitably got the answer ‘Little things AND big things please Mummy’. So… We started!

Florence is a child of our times and didn’t understand why the lap top didn’t have a touch screen but she soon got the hang of it!

The gift finder is very easy to navigate around actually, even for a nearly four year old. You are given a blue boy or a pink girl to decide who you’re looking for, choose an age and then a price range. Florence was well away knowing she wanted to look at pink and for 3 year olds and I helped her with the price. We initially looked at the ‘Blow The Budget’ option as Florence’s eyes danced over all the things she likes! (I had to keep explaining it was a game and NOT what we were actually buying!)

THIS, THIS, THIS! Florence cried! She’s a quick shopper and it didn’t take her long to see the Disney’s Sophia The First Magical Castle for £54.99 from Smyths!

To say she’s a fan is a bit of an understatement and it took a bit of persuading to drag her away from the castle but eventually she did and we went dow to the £5 section to see what was there!

Florence chose a game, Mr Men Box Trivia Miss Giggles Impressions Charades and then in a rather generous act for a little girl of her age she said and let’s get the boys one for Jimmy! They were only £4 each from John Lewis, what a bargain!

Mr Men

Cool game from John Lewis and a snip of a price too!

While she was there she chose a tiara set from ELC for £3, 5 plastic animals from M&S at £4.50 each and a Hungry Bunny Night Light for £3.95 from dotcomgiftshop!

Hungry Bunny

Fab night light!

With just £12.05 left of her budget we headed to the ten pound section where it really didn’t take long for her to choose a small golden labrador soft toy from Hamleys for £10! And we were done… Or were we!

‘I’ve actually seen something else for Jimmy so I think we should do him his own list too.’ she said. I explained we were only to do one wish list but she said it wouldn’t take long as the thing she saw, the thing she knew he would really, really like was a big thing so he probably wouldn’t need lots of little things to go with it… ‘Ok then’ I said, ‘let’s do a quick wish list for Jimmy too.’

And this is what she chose…

Micro scooter

A Mini Micro T-Bar Scooter with seat from Jo Bo Maman Bebe for £75.

She was absolutely right as well! He WOULD love it! And to top it up he’d probably love a few of the M&S animals of his own too!

Florence knows she’s not getting all the things on the list but she had an ace time playing with the site and when I logged on to it again today she said ‘Oh look!’ really excitedly!

As far as I’m concerned it’s a brilliant site as it cuts out the hassle of finding the best bargains. I’m also frequently asked questions like ‘What should I buy for x aged child’ by friends without children and this site would be perfect for them so I shall steer them in this direction in future! Very impressed!

This post is a competition entry to win all the things on our wish list with Compare 4 Kids. I do however have to say that all opinions are entirely my own and we are genuinely very impressed with the site. I wouldn’t have entered otherwise.

  1. That does sound a great idea for finding deals, even though online shopping is more convenient I spend hours trawling and comparing shops and deals before I order so I don’t have to pay p&p hundreds of times!
