Olly The Little White Van DVD Review!

My little boy is rarely without a car or a truck in his hands these days. I even have to carry an array of them around in my handbag! It goes without saying then that the children’s television he is into also features motorised vehicles heavily! What is it with boys and wheels eh?

We were sent an Olly The Little White Van DVD for review and I think it’s suffice to say it’s been a bit of a hit!

Olly the Little White Van, which airs on Milkshake at 6.50 as well as being dotted around their schedule at other times and is also shown on Boomerange and Cartoonito, helps his friends as much as he can.  He isn’t a racing car or fire engine, but he and his driver Stan are very good at helping everyone out, every day.  Like an enthusiastic puppy he bounds around the village of Bumpton talking to everyone, and is happiest when he is setting up a new bus service to the seaside, helping Alice when she is preparing for her driving test, or sprucing up an old VW.

I love the fact that the cartoon is all British from the making to the production and it has a real British vibe to the stories and humour. I actually find it very watchable and have laughed at it myself! Stan reminds me of an ageing British rocker or a Bill Nighy character and I love him in the episode ‘Suzy’s Makeover’!

For Jimmy it’s just great because it has all the cars but also there’s a lovely message behind it to help people and try your best even if you don’t always get it right. Justin Fletcher voices Olly and I don’t think it could have a better seal than that! The King of children’s TV has put his name to it so if it’s good enough for him then it’s definitely good enough for us!

Short episodes with a good message and lots of fun!

I was sent a complimentary DVD for the purpose of an honest review.
