We love our BABY born dolls in this house. Yep, I did say dolls plural because Florence actually has twins although they don’t live together; one is kept at Grams. I expect one day in the future they’ll have a long lost ‘Surprise, Surprise’ style meeting and it will all be very emosh!
Anyway, the real reason we have two is because Florence really does love playing with them and we spend a lot of time at my Mum’s so it makes sense. She really enjoys taking the dolls in the bath, feeding them, changing them, sitting them on the potty… The doll does a lot! One down side to is that she does take a bit of time to dry after she’s been for a splash and to make sure we don’t have wet floors I do insist she is left in the bathroom over night afterwards. This is not always what Florence wants to do of course!
BABY born is made by Zapf Creation who actually make lots of lovely dolls and being dolly fans in general, we have a fair few of them! The latest one is super fun and is in fact in the BABY born family! I think I knew we’d all like my little BABY born Bathing Fun before we had her out of the box but of course we had to have a play and find out for sure!

My little BABY born® Bathing Fun is fully bathable and has a quick-drying, soft and cuddly body, which means little mummies won’t have to be without their companion for long. It’s strange because when I saw it I thought there was no way, with her soft body, that she would go in the bath and dry quickly. We have another dolly with a soft body, not intended for water but which has taken many a dip in a holiday pool regardless and she is grubby, saggy and old looking as a result. Her name is Dirty Dolly for obvious reasons and I just couldn’t imagine a soft bodied doll being suitable for water… But! I was wrong! Little Baby born Bathing Fun actually dries VERY quickly and can even go in the tumble dryer for a few minutes to make it even quicker!
Zapf say: ‘The quick-dry function is down to the soft granules inside the doll’s body. This means that she won’t drip water all over the bathroom and around the house. Once my little BABY born Bathing Fun has enjoyed a dip in the bath, little ones can dress her in her fabric nappy, romper-style outfit and matching hat. Then it’s time for dinner! On account of the fact that the last dolly we reviewed being such a hit with Jimmy I decided to say this one was for them to share rather than just for Florence and I am so glad I did because they have both been having SO much fun with her!
I thoroughly recommend this little dolly! She’s smaller than the main BABY born dolls which makes her ideal as a first dolly and when I asked Florence what she liked about her she said she loves the clothes that come on and off and the fact she has a proper nappy which fixes like a real one. The one down side would be that we wished she came with two nappies to make it feel a bit more real when changing! Anyway, take a look at the fun play we’ve had with the dolly!
