Barbie’s Dream House – Review!

Posted in Uncategorized

I remember Barbie’s Malibu Beach House from my own childhood. A girl in my class had one and we all thought it was just about the best toy ever created. She was the girl we all wanted to be that year because not only did she have the Malibu Beach House AND Barbie’s horse and car but she also went to Disneyland in Florida for her holiday! She was a pretty lucky girl eh! My friend Angela and I didn’t […]

Aldi Ski Wear – In Store Now!

Posted in Uncategorized

I do love an Aldi ‘special buy’, you know the ones! The weekly interesting items that go on sale on a ‘when they’re gone they’re gone’ basis! My favourites in the past have included bread machines, camping gear and horse riding clothes. All really inexpensively priced and always excellent quality! I can’t wait until they next do their cake mixer, I HAVE to give that one a go. I’m REALLY interested to see if they’re as good as the big […]

A Christmas Tree, A Christmas Tree, We Have A Lovely Christmas Tree!

Posted in Uncategorized

I love Christmas time for so many reasons; I just love the whole period. The build up, the parties, the food, the presents… And having children makes it all the more magical! Jonny and I first got together on Christmas Eve (FIFTEEN YEARS AGO) with a cheeky little snog under the mistletoe in a vodka bar in Norwich and then years later I had Florence on New Year’s Eve. So, the period of yuletide festivities is extra special in our […]

Mini Christmas Stockings – FREE Knitting Pattern!

Posted in Uncategorized

Last year I knitted little mini Santa hats to put on the top of champagne bottles for Florence to give her teachers at the end of term before Christmas. It was a little project for me as a new knitter and I made my own pattern up for the first time which involved increasing and decreasing. I think they looked rather effective in the end and the teachers seemed appreciative of my efforts – useless although the item actually was. […]

The Santa Spectacular At Willows Farm – Review!

Posted in Uncategorized

We’ve been to Willows Farm, in St Albans, Herfordshire many, many times. It’s very easy to get to from London and only takes about half an hour in the car and it honestly is, the best farm day out we know. They have traditional fair ground rides all year round, an immense soft play centre which covers days of all weathers, animals to feed and pet, animals to see and admire, shows, birds of prey, tractor rides, play equipment and loads, […]

Dear Father Christmas…

Posted in Uncategorized

I actually get more of a kick buying presents for the people I love than I do receiving them and usually I haven’t got a clue what to say when my family ask me what I’d like for Christmas. This year, however, seems to be a little different and I have a list as long as my arm – I just KEEP seeing things I would really, really like! So, IF I was writing a list to Father Christmas this […]

Party Season – Party Bags And Supplies!

Posted in Uncategorized

While it’s party season for everyone this time of year, it’s especially so for us as Florence was born on New Year’s Eve. We usually hold a party for her just before Christmas so that her friends won’t be busy with NYE plans and this year is no exception. We have a ‘Wozard Of Oz’ themes party in the planning and it’s shaping up rather nicely! This year it’s going to be even bigger than usual because we are actually […]

Home Leaving and Home Making!

Posted in Uncategorized

There’s lots of things that make me sad about our impending move to Norfolk. Leaving friends, our lovely school, everything the children have ever known… Heck, I’m even sad about leaving our little flat because sentimentality is something I have in abundance. I get a little sad saying goodbye to a hotel room after one night so turning my back on out Victorian terrace conversion, the home I brought my children home to for the first time, is, as you’d […]

STAY SAFE THIS WINTER WITH MICHELIN!

Posted in Uncategorized

When I decided around this time last year that I was going to learn to drive there were so many things I hadn’t considered. The goal of starting lessons (which came in February) and passing my test (which finally happened 5th attempt in July) were all I could see and thoughts of insurance, petrol and anything else car-ish hadn’t even entered my head! First I got to grips with being able to fill up with petrol (NOT diesel) and then […]

Little Bird At Winter!

Posted in Uncategorized

I was sent a couple of items from the new 2015 winter range at my favourite Little Bird and it seemed like the perfect opportunity to pair them with some bits I had bought both from this season and from last year. I love Little Bird, which is designed by Jools Oliver, so much that I do tend to buy lots of pieces from the sales in bigger sizes ready and waiting for the next year. Last year a couple […]
