A while ago we were asked if we’d like to attend some swimming events for children at Virgin Active and we had a brilliant time learning about the classes they hold there and the under water photography they provide for little ones.
When they again asked us recently if we’d like to join them for their Barbie Pearl swimming class, which they were holding as a FREE event in lots of their venues, we absolutely jumped at the chance!
Swimming = Good! Barbie = Great! I told Florence and she couldn’t wait!
We chose, without doing much research, a club which as the crow flies is very near to our house. As it turns out, not being crows and having to rely on public transport, it was a bit of a mission getting there for us without a car! Still, we’ll know for next time and choose central London locations instead! Virgin Active have complexes all over the country so there’s always bound to be one which is easy to get to!
The Barbie Pearl classes were a special offer and free as I mentioned, which is pretty lovely because Virgin Active, or at least the two I’ve visited, are pretty swish and make you feel like the rich and famous when visiting!
The classes were to compliment the launch of the Barbie new film, which is also pretty great, ‘Barbie The Pearl Princess’! The DVD was released on 17th Feb and is well worth a watch! We’re so keen that we’re even going to a special screening of it in town this coming weekend! And will probably watch it again when we get home on DVD! Like I said, Florence is just a bit of a Barbie fan! I don’t blame her, so am I!
The class was perfect if busy and although I couldn’t hear much of what was going on her smiles assured me it was all good! Lots of swimming up and down with the instructor and her friend S who belongs to Mummy Is A Gadget Geek, lots of giggling and then some diving for treasure which looked to be her favourite part!
Jimmy missed out on this one but got to go in the creche for a play instead and when my friend told me creche is included in the price of membership it certainly made me think about it… I couldn’t get to one round here easily but perhaps if we move to Norwich I could join there. It’s fairly pricey but apparently the children can join for not much more and get swimming lessons which judging by this one would be awesome!
Florence had a fabulous time in the class!
And she loved getting her Barbie Pearl certificate too!
Thanks Virgin Active, a great morning!
The classes were FREE for anyone who wanted to go, member or not and Virgin Active also sent me a copy of the DVD in return for an honest review.
