When it comes to buying Christmas presents for children who are old enough to speak the task is relatively easy. Well, I base this entirely on my own children at any rate! They are avid watchers of the adverts and declare with glee which things are on their list and which aren’t every time they come on so this does help greatly. But… What about when it comes to buying for a baby?
Ah, it’s a tough call isn’t it because what does a baby really want? Or should we say what does a baby really need? Because when they’re tiny, I always think, it’s god to buy things which are useful for both the tiny tot and his or her parents.
These would be my tops little one pressies from birth to 12 months and to make things even easier I would always shop online where I can see all the details about a product from the materials the item is made from to the price, age it is suitable for and anything else you may need to know. No traipsing around shops makes me one happy present buyer and if you use a specialist store like online4baby.com then you can guarantee that you’re buying the best. So…
Christmas Present Ideas From Birth To 12 Months
Newborn – one month old: How about a blanket, you can’t go wrong as a baby can never have too many and a Mummy will always welcome another one to add to the collection. And hey, you could even make one yourself if you’re feeling crafty! Of course one excellent present for a new parent AND the baby is to buy them their stroller. Something to be used every day and very well loved by both the baby and the Mummy and Daddy so this is an excellent choice but where to start?! Two – three months old:
This is the stage a baby will start to smile and really see everything around it but is too little to roll over or move on his or her own. Because of this I would say a hanging toy for the pram or a play gym might be just the ticket to keep those little tiny minds occupied!
Four – five months old:
A really useful present at such a young age is some weather appropriate clothing. As it’s Christmas time that we’re talking about then it’s going to be rather chilly and those newborn clothes will have been well and truly grown out of by now so how about a really cute snow suit to warm them up for a merry Christmas?
Six to seven months old:
A special decoration for the Christmas tree would be an ideal choice. They will love looking at it now and it will become a treasured piece which can go on the tree every year. The gift that keeps on giving, you can’t say fairer than that!
Eight – nine months old:
Bath times will have just started to be comes super fun for this stage baby and I don’t think you could go wrong with a water play toy! Be it a simple stack of cups or an intricate squirty toy, it will be loved and appreciated!
Ten – eleven months old:
Often babies have started to pull themselves up to a standing position by now and some have even started to cruise. An ideal gift would be a baby walker so some independence can be obtained. Once they get the notion of walking they very often become super frustrated because they want to be able to do something they just haven’t mastered yet. Giving them a little taste with a walker is a great idea and would make you very popular with said baby!
One year old:
What better gift could you give a newly turned one year old for some yule tide fun? Well, how about a nice juicy Christmas themed fancy dress outfit? As you can see my daughter was absolutely thrilled when we did this to her (at least it made US laugh!
