I’d not heard of ‘Ever After High’ until last week when we were sent one of the dolls to review but I was quickly brought up to speed by Florence who is well versed in the Netflix show it seems and knew all about the dolls too. The children of famous fairy tale characters all go to a boarding high school together (Ever After High) and follow in their parents footsteps with stories of their own along the way but in keeping to their heritage.
The main characters are Raven Queen, daughter of the Evil Queen and Apple White, daughter of Snow White who is destined to live happily ever after. Raven doesn’t want to be evil like her Mum but Apple wants her to stay true to her family so that she herself can maintain her own destiny. The show is rated very highly by Florence (a Netflix addict) and as it was created from the Mattel doll line of the same name she was more than happy to get playing!
She was sent Apple White (her favourite character) and was thrilled that she came WITH a hair brush, we both find it very annoyng when a doll doesn’t as that’s the first thing we always want to do, brush her hair! This particular Apple White is from the ‘Way Too Wonderland’ range and she comes with ‘Alice in Wonderland’ type accessories. As well as the brush which is shaped like a key there’s a picket watch which opens and a stand as well as a playing card which opens up like a book and contains all the information you need to know about the doll. Florence was very impressed and particularly loved the detailing on her jewellery (ring, necklace and earrings as well as a hat crown and shoes) and her pink and blue hair streaks.
In the epic Netflix Original Series, “Way Too Wonderland,” Raven Queen tries to magically reverse her mother’s curse on Wonderland and accidentally transports herself and her friends to Wonderland High. As her friends Kitty Cheshire, Madeline Hatter, Apple White and Lizzie Hearts fall down the rabbit hole, their outfits transform into spellbinding dresses with wonderlandful charm. This means bold neons, beautiful pastels and lots of playing card-inspiration throughout plus, the added extra colorful hairstreak and oversized headbands are “just right” for Wonderland.

The dolls are aimed at girls aged 7-10 (although Florence is only 5 and it works for her) and priced at £23.99. Cionsidering the accessories and detailing of the clothes I think this is a very fair price indeed and I can’t see many little girls being disappointed!
