FitFlop are new on the shoe scene but they’re really taking it by storm. Six years ago, the idea was a pipe dream for Marcia Kilgore, a beauty industry entrepreneur and mum. She collaborated with two biomechanists, Dr David Cook and Darren James, to make FitFlop a reality. As a young company they pride themselves on bringing a fresh take to footwear. They manage to combine fun, stylistic elements with function and purpose, resulting in shoes that look and feel great.
One of the main focuses of the company when creating footwearis to concentrate on ergonomics; they believe their passion and hard work has resulted in shoes that are both comfortable and a perfect fit. The company uses science and biomechanics to create state-of-the-art inventions for their shoes e.g. the Microwobbleboard midsole which makes their FitFlop sandals extra comfy. It manages to diffuse pressure and absorb shock so that walking on any terrain feels amazing. There are many shoes out there that look beautiful but leave you with toes like Nik-Naks. There are also a lot that are best kept in a very dark cupboard, even though they make you feel like you are walking on air. FitFlop strives to bring design and comfort together, with impressive results that genuinely work.
With a range of different shoes available, the company have come a long way since their first sandal, the Walkstar, was developed in 2007. Now they dabble in a lot more than sandals! From boots to ballerina pumps, sneakers to clogs, the company have really started to leave their individual footprint on the shoewear market. Style is just as important as fit for the creators and both their men’s and women’s ranges live up to expectation.
The business also promoted charity work, donating all profits from the Pink on Your Feet Supersneaker Mid Sneaker to Breast Cancer Care, as well as undertaking other projects. Believing that they are following their dreams one step at a time, they encourage their customers to do the same. As their website states, ‘Wear the shoes. Rule the world!’ It seems FitFlop are looking to the future and want you to join them!
FitFlop shoes are available in both the United Kingdom and internationally. their shoe ranges can be found at http://www.fitflop.co.uk, where you can also read more about the history of the company, the hard work of the creators and the technology that really makes their shoes unique.
