Fun Hangout Ideas With Friends at Home

As you wait for that trip to the Maldives to finally leave the group chat, here are a couple of ideas that won’t cost an arm and a leg, but will still leave your crew with fond memories. And I’m not talking about post-work happy hours or booking a reservation at those trendy hotspots that are Insta-worthy. It is about turning a weekend hangout at your place into a fun and memorable experience, where your buds bond over tasty food, bubbly drinks, and exciting activities.

Have a Spa Day at Home

There’s no better way to spend a weekend than to relax, rejuvenate, and give your body a nice treat after a hectic week. Instead of spending a paycheck on manicures and massages, turn your living room into the perfect home spa for your friends.

Lighting is everything, so make sure the lights are dim or candles are lit to set the right mood. Add a touch of essential oils like lavender or eucalyptus for the perfect scent and play soft nature sounds from YouTube. All that’s left is to put on your face masks, soak your feet in warm water with added oils, and have a complete spa day.

Throw a Closet Clean-Out Party

You’ve probably postponed it for far too long now, and maybe all you needed was a little motivation. Invite your friends over for a closet cleaning party where they get first dibs on those chic outfits you hardly wear and sip cocktails as a reward for a productive day.

Next time, go to another friend’s house and do the same. It’s also the best time to psych your friend into a runway walk with various outfits and help style them.

Host an Open Mic Night

We all have that one friend who gets funnier as the drinks kick in or who can’t help but sing along to their favorite songs when a little bit tipsy. So, why not have an open mic night?

Host your friends, have a karaoke mic, and whip up some amazing cocktails. Then encourage everyone to channel their inner Dave Chappelle or Mariah Carey (maybe that’s a bit over the top), and the stage is all theirs. Either your friends will surprise you with some talent, or you’ll surely have a good laugh.

Try a Casino Game Night for a Change

Playing board games is a classic game night idea that never goes wrong. But why not spice things up with something much more exciting? Bring the glitz and glamour of Vegas to your casino-themed party and tell everyone to dress up and bring their luck.

Spend a little more on champagne and rent or buy poker, blackjack, and roulette tables for the best experience. If you know your stuff, put on a bow tie and be the dealer, making sure everything flows. If some would want to sharpen their skills a little before game night, there are many casino sites online where they can practice. Have your chips ready and give your crew the Vegas experience.

Put Your Friendship to the Test With Some Fun Trivia

How well do you know your friends? It’s time to see whether you’ve been listening to those many conversations or spacing out. Having a friendship test is a good way to learn more about guys in your inner circle. Have everyone come up with trivia questions about themselves and quiz them on that day.

There’s no need to score points, but simply get to know everyone more. If some of the questions baffle your friends, no foul, it just shows they can be open with you even through the tough conversations.

Have a Retro Movie Marathon

At times, you just want to chill and do nothing intense. No activities, just hanging out with your friends in silence, or minimal conversation as you watch a film. Cinemas are great for the latest blockbusters, but what about diving into classic movies full of nostalgia?

Your weekend hangout could be the answer. Whether you want to go back to James Bond’s first movie, Dr. No, revisit a classic like The Godfather, or enjoy something a bit more recent like the Harry Potter series, a retro movie marathon will be filled with many throwback moments.
