Grass Head Flop!

This entry was posted in Uncategorized.

In the summer we took part in the #SaveSummer challenge that Asda set us. Our challenge was to do a different activity each week to save summer from becomeing boring and record them for my blog. We had lots of fun but one didn’t work out exactly as we thought it might…

We made grass heads using tights, pots, soil and grass seed and we decorated them with happy faces then we waited for the grass to grow… We called the post ‘How To Grow Green Hair!’

Our grass never did grow, as you’ll know if you read our post!

We waited…

And waited some more…

But the grass just never grew…

We were waiting for a shiny head of hair made from grass so that we could give our lovely little grass heads a hair cut and we thought that would be fun but I decided, when we’d waited for AAAAAAGES, that I must not have planted them right or that we had duff grass seeds…

Then…

We went on holiday for a fortnight. We’d already stopped watering the grass heads because we thought they wouldn’t grow so they’d been dry for a few days by the time we set off. In fact, the only reason I hadn’t put them in the bin was because I hadn’t got round to it.

Anyway…

Two weeks later when we arrived home we found…

Grass heads!

Ok, so we didn’t grow green hair exactly. The grass was withered and dry and a little bit yellow actually. It didn’t stand up and look lush either! The eyes were nearly falling off and the painted faces had long gone in the water. The heads, in general, looked very sorry for themselves but… We made them, we waited, we didn’t water them and they somehow grew despite all this. Late and disheveledly but they grew all the same.

The least we could do was give them a bit of a hair cut!

Very closely monitored scissor fun!

We just thought we’d show you!

I have not been paid in any way to write this post.
