It’s summer holidays time and that only means one thing! Bring on the fun!
With six whole weeks at home, it is up to us as parents to build entertainment for our little ones! Days out and entertaining children can be super expensive though so as well as the odd trip out to a theme park for a treat we need to do some brilliant things at home too!
We’re taking part in the Asda #SaveSummer challenge! This means that every week of the school holidays we will, as a family, take on a fun task set by Asda and share our antics with you! The good news is that the challenges are all really good value for money, of course, because everything you need comes from Asda!
Making dinosaurs from home made play dough! Sounds like something we’d enjoy and for this weeks task it wasn’t something we found ‘task worthy’ at all! Kind of cooking and kind of craft means the best of both worlds. Food colouring, mixing and creating!
How do you do it?
1. Mix one cup of flour and a third of a cup of salt, then slowly pour in half
a cup of warm water and two tablespoons of vegetable oil.
2. With the strength of a Stegosaurs knead the dough on a clean surface
until smooth.
3. Work out how many colours your dinosaur is going to have and break
the dough into that many sections. Add a few drops of different food
colouring to these bits and knead again.
4. How you make your creature is up to you, but if you haven’t seen a
dinosaur up close before it might be useful to look at what other people
have made below.
5. Clean up as you go by eating any little bits of play-dough that you drop
on the table – don’t worry this is completely safe.
This one isn’t as messy as it sounds and it’s lots of fun too!
I have not been paid to write this post but I was supplied with the necessary tools to join in with the #SaveSummer challenge set by Asda.
