The new Stokke XPlory V6 is launching tomorrow and ahead of the big party to celebrate, Raffie and I have been one of the first families to use the updated and much loved stroller! Now we are very familiar with the Stokke XPlory having used a V4 with Jimmy and a V5 with Raffie from birth. I just wrote about how much we enjoyed using the carry cot on the V5 with the Raffster a couple of week’s ago and how I was going to be moving him into a seat unit imminently!
Well… No time like the time a brand new buggy is launched to make the transition and into a seat unit my babe went – into the newest seat unit on the block no less!
The new Stokke Xplory V6 has all the features I love about this buggy, the baby is high up and able to be eye to eye with me, the seat is extremely roomy, the push is IMMENSE and let’s face it, it looks THE BUSINESS! So… What’s new? Well… The fact that the V6 will fold one handed is the most important new feature for me. I’ve not found it too much of a hindrance on older models but I have to admit that this is a much improved element that I hadn’t even realised I needed until I had it! It definitely makes life a lot easier and makes the Xplory seem easier to manoeuvre into the boot of my car.
The other stand out improvement for me is the under storage basket. It was a little on the dinky side before, I don’t think I could ever have fitted EVERYTHING I need for a day out with a tiny tot in it but now it’s positively enormous with a fresh new look to boot. I LOVE the new bag and have managed to fit a massive amount of stuff in it meaning I can go out without a bag. EXCELLENT!
The handle bar and bumper (which you can now swivel as it has a hinge – hurrah, no more slipping baby up and down to get in and out or having to take the whole thing off) are now covered with leatherette and it certainly feels as though the handle is slimmer to hold but that could all be in my head just as I think it’s in Jonny’s head that the seat is bigger. Neither actually are but for some reason they feel so and I wonder if it’s something to do with the new integrated foot plate which is very definitely a life hack with the XPlory! Before you would have to take the foot plate on and off to have the baby parent facing, this would be every single time you folded it, which I took as standard but was quite irritating. Now there’s no such hassle!
We have taken the new Xplory V6 out with us on lots of trips over the last couple of week’s and we LOVE it! I can’t wait for the launch party tomorrow where I will be able to see the new bassinet (which is bigger) and soon I will bring you a much more comprehensive review with comparison pictures between the V5 and the V6. For now please watch my Instagram stories as we will be featuring the V6 every day and especially watch tomorrow (19th April) for the launch party and us using the Xplory V6 in London!
