Autumn is here and the children are liking nothing more than getting outside to splash in puddles and kick the leaves around. The weather is building beautifully for Halloween and bonfire night and we are dressing appropriately.
Living in London you might think we don’t have much countryside to roam or the need for sensible walking (and of course splashing) clothes but you’d be very wrong. Where I live feels almost more rural than where I’m from in Norfolk and my Uncle tells me that interestingly London has more acres of public open spaces than Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire put together so we absolutely do need to have clothes and footwear to suit!
Regatta is a brilliant brand which provides the sensible and necessary but also, these days, has a very fashion concious edge and we’ve been trying out some of the range for a family day out in the East London countryside. We love it, what do you think?
This is me in the women’s Calderdale (was £65 – now £50 in the sale) jacket and my Garsdale (£60) walking shoes!
The jacket is waterproof and breathable with ventilating zips and I love the hood which tucks neatly away. It’s also very warm! The shoes are super comfortable and supportive while my feet didn’t get wet once despite stepping in many muddy puddles!Jonny is wearing the Fraser jacket (£70) and the men’s Garsdale shoes (£60)!Jonny’s jacket has the same features as mine plus cuffs which seal to keep in warmth and he again found the shoes to be very comfortable!Florence thinks her pink Splosh II suit is wonderful! (£28 reduced from £35). It’s pretty good value I have to say and is incredibly warm as well as being waterproof!She had a brilliant time splashing n the puddles wearing her suit which didn’t let her get at all wet!Jimmy’s Mudplay suit (£35) is all of the things Florence’s is as well as having the added bonus of some incredibly cute ears!And he thinks it’s pretty amazing too!
We loved splashing in puddles and running in the woods but we can’t wait for a snow day when we can REALLY put these gorgeous suits to the test!
