A while ago, when visiting my good friend Ra Ra, one of the best Aunties in the world, she got her toy box (all good aunties have these) for Jimmy to play with. Florence was staying at my Dad’s and Jimmy and I were having a night with Auntie Ra Ra who lives close by.

She doesn’t have any children of her own but a rather fantastic niece (real) and quite a few nieces and nephews (adopted) from friends. It was me who named her Auntie Ra Ra and it’s stuck with everyone. She’s fabulous and we all love her!

In her fantastical toy box Jimmy found some plastic toy animals that he couldn’t get enough of and Ra Ra assured me that it was because they are THE best! She’d bought them in a charity shop but they were immaculate in condition and Ra Ra said this was because their brand was the very best on the market. Schleich, she assured me were worth their price tag despite being much higher than products of a similar ilk and the reason she gave was that they are incredibly detailed, beautiful and to boot, built to last! After seeing Jimmy play with them I was inclined to believe without doing too much research.

However, since then I have looked into the matter further and having tried to find cheaper animals of similar quality I have to say I agree with Ra Ra. Other animals ARE available but they are flimsy and you can see that with one chew they would be ruined… I decided a while ago that when we buy Jimmy a proper farm we will buy Schleich animals, they really are a cut above!

I was sent some Schleich horses to review as luck would have it and my initial impression has been proven. They really are just lovely! Florence and \Jimmy have been having so much fun with their three horses, one of which has a heart on her bottom! They are detailed, realistic and of course, built to last!

There’s a reason people buy Schleich, they are the best! You absolutely get what you pay for and a collection to be built is far better than a menagerie of rubbish! We love the horses and have to say yet again, Auntie Ra Ra, as always, you know what you’re talking about!
