Shrek’s Adventure London – February Half Term 2019!
So what’s new for 2019 at Shrek’s Adventure I hear you ask?! Well, having just been for our first visit of the year this February half term I can tell you it’s filled to the brim with all the things we know and love and the epic adventure around the Shrek story line fighting witches, Rumpole Stiltskin and becoming the hero of the hour alongside a saved Shrek is as gloriously entertaining as ever (the actors at this place are simply stunning) and of course there’s all the Dreamworks fun too with the characters from films like Madagascar meeting you at the end of the journey but now… We also have the ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ exhibit which was opened to celebrity fanfare this past weekend! We couldn’t mak the grand opening party and missed out on hobnobbing with the likes of Danny Dyer (shame mate) but we DID go along a few days later to check it all out for ourselves and what a great time we had too!
The kid’s just love it here, in fact, they’re a bit Shrek obsessed in general at the moment what with watching the Broadway musical version on loop so it was the perfect time for us to visit and for them to really immerse themselves in the experience. If you’ve outgoing children like mine they can join in with the cast and become a part of the story line but equally, if you’re not always up for popping your hand up and being the center of attention, there’s as much fun to be had as a spectator. You move around the different scenes trying to help free Shrek and it’s fun, fast paced and full of laughter!
This time the big kids joined in with EVERYTHING and even Raffie managed to get in on the act from time to time. It’s worth noting that for smaller babies you might like to take a sling as I had to carry Raffie for quite a lot of it – buggies have to be left and though you can leave one bag for free with the buggy there is a charge for any additionals which could be costly so hands free to carry is best!
Oh we had a glorious time and will look forward to going back again sometime soon – I often think about buying a Merlin pass as in London alone there’s o much to do, indeed just on the Southbank alone there’s The Sea Life Centre, London Dungeons, a river cruise and The London Eye all next door to Shrek’s Adventure and it’s a great way to spend the day if you combine a few things in one go. This visit we also went to the Sea Life Centre but more about that on another post!
The kids had a fantastic time – just look at their faces and it really doesn’t have to cost the earth as there are plenty of bundles for the Merlin attractions and it’s definitely cheaper to book Shrek (all the Merlin activities actually) on line. There’s fab deals to be had on the website like four attractions with 50% off! Check them out here! Also don’t forget there’s Madame Tussauds in our capital city and many theme parks just outside so plenty to choose from!
We were gifted tickets to Shrek’s Adventure.
