When the children were tiny we used to put them in those gorgeous little sleeping bags which zipped around them and poppered over their shouldres. they were great for keeping them warm as they didn’t need a blanket over them which might have got kicked off and when they were really, really tiny they were good for peace of mind knowing that they didn’t have a cover which might go over their faces in the night. Florence loved hers in particular and I remember thinking what a shame it was, when she started to walk and get in and out of bed on her own, that they were no longer altogether practical as she obviously wouldn’t be able to walk in them!
I didn’t know, however, that you could get ones which would be suitale for older children to – ones with FEET! If I had of done then I’d have definitely invested before now because both of my children wake up in the night when they are cold after the covers have come off them and Jimmy in particular, on the bottom bunk without a little guard around it like on the top, loses his quilt pretty early on in the night thus meaning he comes through to us! Slumbersac make both regular AND sleeping bags with feet!
We were asked if we’d like to review one onf the ones with inbuilt feet and I just had to get one for Jimmy to see if it made any difference. They go p to age 3-4 so without looking at the measurements I ordered one for him in that age as he is three and a half. I of course, should have looked and seen that it goes up to 110cm in height and realised he would probably benefit from a smaller one. When it arrived I could see it was probably too big for him as my children are quite teeny but that didn’t matter as Florence quickly stepped in as chief tester!
We have the blue stars pattern in the highest winter tog (£24.99) and at nearly 6 it fits my tiny Florence perfectly. She ran around in it before bed, slept in it and woke up cosy and warm the next morning sayig that she thought it was brilliant. It hadn’t impeded her at all and she’d even managed the easy to use zip when she needed the toilet. My only thought was why don’t they do one for adults!
Jimmy, who didn’t want to be left out of the action in the Slumbersac that should have rightfully been his, gave it a go despite it being rather large on him and he looked pretty comfy too! He does actually still wear a nappy at night but he is also able to manage the zip if he needs to!
The Slumbersac is soft and thick and warm. It’s perfect for our needs and all I have to do now is buy Jimmy one in a size smaller and try to persuade them to make one big enough for me! Move over grown up sized Slankets, the Slumbersac is what we all need!
We were sent a Slumersac with feet for the purpose of an honest review.
I absolutely love these!! Totally perfect for these cold winter nights! 🙂
I love them too – Now just to get one in MY size! 😉
