It’s thought that bean bags were invented by ancient Egyptians as a place to sit and play games. They date back to some time around 2000 B.C meaning they are literally thousands of years old but who’d have thunk it? The Egyptians would fill small leather pouches with dried beans or pebbles and these would be the first pews of a bean bag nature and while we’ve come on in leaps and bounds since then, it’s interesting that the main formula has remained the same. If it ain’t broke then don’t fix it eh?!
I wonder if people think about bean bags and assume student accommodation, something which might be less than when it comes to interiors and make a dismissal without truly understanding how attractively stylish, comfortable and indeed helpful having bean bags in the home is. We have a lovely cosy living room and garden room with Tongue and Groove Flooring which is made super cosy with lovely rugs and soft places to sit. I’d not have carpet again because of that so the soft furnishings do have to be invitingly comfortable to contrast.
