The First Half Term 2022!
While this first half term at school has gone by in a flash, it’s also felt super tough at times. I struggled a lot with Raffie going to school and still am. He feels too little and the time he spent as a pre-schooler feels like it was robbed with COVID so I’m sort of mourning the fact he’s not at home with me anymore on many levels. He is very happy to be at school and thriving. Loving every second. But the long and the short of it is that I miss him dearly and wish he had at least another year with me and Posie at home. He’s learned so much and his teacher calling him a “lovely little chap” made my heart soar. It also made me feel sad again as he is a lovely little chap and I’d really rather he spent his time with me than at school but there we are. Life moves on and he’s just soaking up all school has to offer brilliantly. He also turned five this half term making him one of the oldest in the year and he had a superb birthday to celebrate with a party, family time and lots of presents!
Jimmy has struggled a little these past few weeks. A result of lockdown means he’s not the same easy and happy go lucky lad he was pre-lockdown and if I could go back in time I’d utilise his keyworker place and have him attend school. Being out has affected him and his wellbeing in ways the rest of us came away unscathed from and he needs lots of love and attention. We have a plan of action and we are on it. My boy is brilliantly bright and such a great character, he has lots of good places that he’s going and the future is looking brighter I think. It’s been a slog recently but my word he’s working hard and kudos to him. He’s so like me in so many ways and I know this gives me an insight into how he feels. It took me a while to figure that out but now that I have I think we are on the up!
Florence just loves school. She loves it. Every aspect and friendships are big important for her. She works hard and plays hard too but the down side to being a bursary kid is that she can’t always keep up with the Jones’s when it comes to money. She wishes she didn’t have to clean the toilets like Cinderella to make money to do things when her friends don’t but she gets on with it and her glitter bad party business is going great guns. She will go many places this one who picked up an award for her progress at prize giving. We continue to be ever so proud of her, every single day. No one is perfect but she tries to very hard to be so – in that she is not like me at all!
Posie is very definitely missing her big brother Raffie. It’s a real difference for her with him being at school and like me I think she feels lonesome at times but we have begun Baby Ballet classes and continue with Gymboree as well as swimming and play group and days out when we can. She’s the most wonderful company and we have been having lots of fun together. I have big plans for more of the same!
Now… Onto the half term holiday and I’ve big plans there too. It’s not always easy to make everyone happy all of the time in a family as big as ours. There’s a lot of compromise on offer a lot of the time from all camps but overall we do manage to have a wonderful time together and I do love a bit of Halloween half term fun so here’s to it!
