Every year Katy from Modern Mummy and I meet up in London for a Christmas day out with our broods. The day is nearly here for us to make our 2017 splash on the capital where we will see all the lights, eat all (well a lot of it I’m sure) the food and also catch a show as well as take the kids for a fun activity!
So… What’s on the agenda for this year? Well, I think we will be topping all that have gone before with our visit to the Docklands where we will be ice skating and soaking up all that the Greenwich Winter Time Festival has to offer as well as taking our seats at Deptford’s Albany Theatre for The Ugly Duckling!
The trailer, below, is making us very excited! It looks JUST up our street, take a look!
Theatre is so important to me. I trained as an actress and have always loved to be in a theatre preferrably for work but if not that then for pleasure. I of course introduced my children to it at a very young age and am proud to have passed them some of the enthusiasm I hold. I can’t stress enough how important it is for kids to see live performances, it’s something so special and so unlike anything else! Children get a tremendous amount from great performances like those shown at the Albany in Deptford which has an amazing community arts centre bringingtheatre to everyone, especially children. Their #EveryChildTheatre campaign aims to provide every 5 year old in Lewisham with a free theatre ticket to one of their shows and we can’t wait to see The Ugly Duckling there this weekend!
York Theatre Royal are responsible for this particular offering and with inventive puppetry, dancing and live music it looks set to have everything that’s great about family theatre!
The production runs from the 4th – 31st December and tickets are just £12 for adults and £8 for kids. You can book yours here!
