Well Covered In Joules

The winter is here and I am, as always, feeling the cold terribly. I do NOT like being cold and it feels very miserable indeed when it is coupled with grey clouds and a spattering of rain. It was such a day when I was choosing a coat and what got me more than anything was needing something which would be really snuggly and something which would be almost like being wrapped up in bed with my duvet keeping me cosy warm…

I love a coat (have rather a few) and I love choosing a new one. I’ve always had lots and despite not liking the feeling of the weather, I like the season because it gets I mean to wrap up in them. Currently I’m loving my 60’s Welsh wool cape and my real fur jacket which were both my Mum’s back in the swinging decade. I wouldn’t buy real fur if it was new but this baby has been around for so long now, why waste it! I also have a lovely new one from this season at Joules. When I saw my coat in the colour cocoa I knew it was the one for me – it’s gorgeous!

It’s goose down inside and padded but still quite thin so I don’t look too big or too Michelin man like. I also really like the fur trim which is removable, the belt to cinch my waist in and the fact it is more than a jacket in length but not a full length coat. Perfect for me as a Mummy. It’s wipe clean which is excellent if you have children and can even go in the washing machine, as mine has today after Jimmy was a little bit unwell at the weekend… Oh dear! I can repirt that it has come out of the washing machine still looking brilliant and is almost dry after only half a day hanging with a bit of shaking now and then to distribute the feathers!
