Saturday night saw me well and truly out out at a wild (for me) hen do I had organised for my cousin. Knowing that I had to be up early doors for a Netflix screening on Sunday I had decided to play it sensible and not drink too much or stay out too late… Oh dear… That never really works does it? At 2am when I was in a cocktail bar in Clapham, forgetting my 37 years and thinking I was about 20, some sort of sensibility however, did come over me and I peeled myself away from the party to make sure I got a few hours sleep in to be fit for the morning as the kiddos were super excited and I couldn’t possibly disappoint them! It was a good job I did because my cousin and her other pals didn’t rock home until I was getting up and getting ready (feeling not quite as sprightly as I might have otherwise) to go an meet them with some friends of ours where they had slept over having a party of their own the night before.
My friend’s little girl was just as excited as my two about the screening and as soon as we got to the party they were in their absolute element! Beat Bugs is a new show for our fave Netflix and is all about some cute little bugs working out tricky situations with some truly fantastic songs to help them on their way. Now when I say truly fantastic tunes you have to understand that you couldn’t really get much better than the music of Lennon and McCartney and ALL the songs in Beat Bugs and reworked and remastered versions of those Beatles classics! My musician husband is a massive Beatles fans so Florence and Jimmy are well versed in the songs and as we watched the really sweet story lines for the 4 episodes we were lucky enough to have a sneaky peek at we couldn’t help but sing along. they loved it and it was the perfect antidote (along with my yummy mint tea from the Ham Yard Hotel) to the perils of the night before as far as my head was concerned!
We all absolutely LOVED the new series which is no surprise really as we tend to find we like most things on Netflix. We don’t really watch anything else at the moment to be honest with binge series watching of Full House and Fuller House (for Florence who has over taken me) happening most days. We were having a competition with our besties over at Modern Mummy to see who could complete it all first and I’m not sure how they did it as we had it on ALL the time but they won! We now HAVE to introduce them to Beat Bugs because it’s toe tappingly awesome!
The party after the screening was fantastic and we got to try our hand at loads of entertainment surrounding lots of other Netflix shows. Project Mc2 (which we wrote about here earlier) had a stand with some experiments amongst lots and lots of crafting, stamp collecting and fun and games! We even got to leave with our very own Netflix back packs and a Project Mc2 doll (Check out Florence’s vlog review of the dolls over on her YouTube channel Florence’s Toy Box).
Take a look at the fun we had at the party!
Are there even more reasons to watch Netflix? Oh yes masses but at the moment we thoroughly recommend this new show Beat Bugs (you won’t be able to stop singing), Project Mc2 (Girl Power at its best) and of course… Our beloved Full House! It’s an 80s/90s American sitcome about a father bringing up 3 daughters on his own after losing his wife and he does it, hilariously so, with the help of his best pal Joey and his brother in law (who is a haaaaawt daaawd it must be said) Uncle Jessie. We watched the entire 8 seasons before moving on to the new spin off series which is an original for Netflix, Fuller House! It is also BRILLIANT and has ALL the same characters (but older of course) and a similar story line as it now follows oldest daughter of the family DJ as she bring sup her own family alone after losing her husband but in step her sister and best pal Kimmy G to help. Seriously, you’ve just GOT to watch it!
I’d like to say thanks to BT who partnered with Netflix for the screening and generously invited us with our friends to attend. And thanks to Netflix for throwing such a brilliant party! I’m totally partied out now and having a pyjama day… 37 is way too old to go on wild hen nights! A day in front of Netflix for us it is then!
