Jimmy has been using hooded towels since he was born and we think they’re fab for little ones because it means that as soon as they come out of the bath their little heads can be kept warm. (They also look super cute wrapped up too!) Unfortunately the little towels he had been using, which were just plain white ones, are really too small for him now so we’ve been on the lookout for a bigger one. We also wanted to get him something a bit brighter and a bit more fun to make bath time jollier! Looking at the Jellybabys website we discovered a whole range which fitted the bill perfectly! Their towel range, which comprises 10 different animals including a lion, owl and zebra also has a flower one which is super sweet. Well, we were spoilt for choice and found it incredibly hard making a decision but eventually settled on Freddie the Frog!
He arrived the day after and we couldn’t have been happier with him! In addition to the excellent quality I was impressed with how he was packaged and as you can see from the above picture, with the way he was rolled and tied up with a bow, he would make a jolly good present. But this one was for us and we couldn’t wait to use him. Meant for Jimmy of course but as soon as Florence saw him she said ‘Oh! A frog towel, can I use him?’ Already I was sensing a second towel would have to be ordered!
The Freddie the Frog towel is 100% cotton and the towelling feels soft and velvety. It’s not however, the type of velvety feeling towel which just lets water run off it. He is very thick and both sides are super absorbent! Freddie’s cheeky happy face provides the hooded part of the towel and then once laid out ready to use he is large and inviting (approx 20″x50″). You can see from my pictures that he has little webbed feet at each corner with the top two providing a little pocket on the inside to slip baby hands in. I simply love it and found that he was ample enough to wrap round my nearly three-year old generously. It makes them really snuggly after their bath, with the hood up and the thick towel wrapped around them.
You can see that the towel is big and double thick with extremely cute characteristics making children excited to use him! I personally like the warmth he provides by covering the whole body and keeping little heads snuggly whilst they dry.
This towel obviously provides a little ahhhh factor as well! Both my babies looked utterly gorgeous when using him and I couldn’t resist taking lots of photographs! I just love the little webbed feet and other towels in the range have similar details with tails behind them and the lion even has a furry mane!
Both my children look super sweet wrapped up in Freddie the Frog!
The hood is of ample size but as you can see fits both a 6 month old Jimmy and a nearly 3-year-old Florence who was pretending to be a frog in this picture I think!
I’m delighted with the product, with its size, the way it keeps them warm when they get out of the bath and also with how well it dries the children while not seeming to become super wet. Saying that, despite it’s size, it does fold up quite small and fits rather well hung over our small towel rail bathroom radiator. The only problem is… This towel was meant for Jimmy but Florence’s shine to him is not waning. Ah well, just gives me the chance to struggle choosing another one… I think the owl, no, perhaps the bunny? I didn’t see that one before! But then I absolutely LOVE the zebra… Oh decisions, decisions!
Folded up and hung over our tiny radiator!
While I’m on the website ordering a new towel I will have to really keep myself in check and not end up spending a fortune because I really, really could! Their other stuff is just delightful too. They do wonderful personalised gifts such as rompers and blankets but my favourite is the ‘Finger Print Tree’ which is a Christening gift where every family member can print their finger onto a tree for the baby! What a clever idea! They also sell clothing (adorable), jewellery, travel products and a whole host of other things too! Two of the items on my current wish list are the Butterfly Cottage Wendyhouse for a special treat and I’m going to HAVE to get some pre walker shoes for Jimmy! I just LOVE the Union Jack ones, or as Florence would say ‘The Jubilee ones’!
I adore these pre walker shoes!
These guys offer a really great service too! You can pay in different currencies and they will ship! How good is that! One review I read said they had been sent a gift from a friend in the UK to where they live in Australia. I think that’s an amazing service! They also have a pretty brilliant sale at the moment and as my daughter has the middle name Ladybird you can see why this item appeals!
Love this and it’s in the SALE!
Jellybabys on-line baby gift store sell lots of delicious things for you to buy (if you can bear to part with them once they arrive) as presents or perhaps just as a treat for yourself! With brands like Zoocchini (who make the Freddie the Frog towel), Olive and Moss, Star Child and plenty more you will be spoilt for choice!
