Last week, for my first week back to reality after the Christmas break, I did a massive Aldi shop full of healthy food. I, like masses of people everywhere, am on a health kick for January and although I rarely manage to keep up my diets over the weekends I am fully intending on being good during the week!

So, my plan was to do some exercise every day, eat good, fresh foods, not have alcohol and try to eat only vegetarian dishes. Obviously I’m not doing any of it totally properly as I will only be doing it Monday – Friday but this approach has always worked for me in the past and doing something is better than doing nothing!

While I was filling my trolley with all the goodness (my particular faves of the moment are the Kallo rice cakes and crackers, Aldi smoked salmon fillets and the yummy cottage cheese with chives, I noticed that the special buys for the week were all fitness related too! Weights, DVD’s (Including the 30 Day Shred which I started but had to stop due to my poorly knee) and loads of great clothing! I love a bit of fitness fashion and yet again Aldi have smashed it on both price, comfort and looks! Good old Aldi!

Although I can’t actually do the 30 Day Shred with all its jumping and squats I have started to do 10 minutes of yoga followed by some sit ups every morning. Aldi sent me some fab yoga gear wth Pilates socks and they’re perfect for my new routine! I especially love the sports bra top which is padded and has a bra clip at the back to adjust but is so comfortable I’ve actually contemplated wearing it just regularly under my clothes – would that be going too far into comfort over style?!?!

So… Here’s to a healthy 2016 and keeping an eye on the Aldi Special Buys! I’m moving in the next couple of weeks and thank goodness will finally have an Aldi on my doorstep! Starting on the 14th of January the special buy is going to be bedding! I’m literally going to replace all the bedding in my house from the duvets and pillows to the actual covers. There’s something incredibly lovely about getting into bed with all new bedding but it can be pricey. It looks like the Aldi bedding is going to be a brilliant price and I already have my eye on loads! Check out the website for all upcoming special buys here!
