We’ve been getting crafty again this week! Well, when I say we I actually don’t mean me really for apart from cutting out a few triangles and giving the odd pointer Florence did this particular one all on her own! She loves to make things and sticking is her new favourite hobby be it with glue or sticky tape! Seriously, sticking things can keep her entertained for absolutely ages and she’s had her eye on the craft box from the Early Learning Centre that we’ve had on the shelf for quite some time now! It was a wet day last week and we didn’t have the inclination to venture outside so I decided the time had come to get the Lion Spoons craft box down and let Florence spend the afternoon sticking and glueing! So we read the instructions and got going!
The box, which costs £5, contains everything you need to decorate a giant spoon as a lion and a smaller spoon as the cub. From the goggly eyes and tissue paper to the actual spoons themselves and the glue. All you need to think about is providing the little ones with an area they can make mess and let them away! Florence just copied the pictures on the instructions and I have to say she did very well indeed and aside from me not letting her loose with our sharp scissors and cutting the tissue paper for the mane myself she pretty much did everything else herself which I am super proud of! The whiskers and ears are made from foam and each shape is easily popped out of the sheet and it is clear what everything is and how it’s to be used! We even had tissue paper and glue left over for another craft project another day! Florence enjoyed doing this so much that she’s been asking to do more and I have to say they’re incredibly good value, create very little mess and because they kept her entertained so well I’ll be stocking up! I think these packs (they do lots of craft kits) will make superb stocking fillers so I think we might pop them on the list for father Christmas too!
Florence had so much fun doing the Lion Spoons as you can see and now they are on her shelf with some of her toys! I think you’ll agree they’re beautiful and didn’t she do a good job!
