May Half Term 2025!
I love the holidays, live for them really because I just can’t stand missing the children so much while they’re at school. I know that sounds nuts but this is me, I can’t be anyone else and after May half term this year I feel totally short changed. I had some teeth out just before, four of them in fact in readiness for Invisalign sorting out the gaps (one tooth had to come out due to grinding and it was recommended that three more come out too, in order for the best results going forwards) and unfortunately it didn’t go to plan. One tooth had to be surgically removed meaning my jaw had to be fractured and another of them got dry socket which is the most painful thing (even over child birth with no drugs) I have ever experienced and on top of that, from the upper extractions, I got a sinus infection. The upshot was that for much of the holiday I was in bed and very unwell. I tried to soldier on and we attended the football prize giving, spent a night away in oxford with a visit to Blenheim palace and the Oxford Museum of Natural History (both great) , we also got to enjoy Raffie performing with Legacy, but honestly, time I could be with the children when I instead have to rest and be in bed, has left me mega annoyed. So… Not many pictures of this school holiday sum it up and I have decided we will make it up with a week at Haven next week because, frankly, we deserve that now that I’m ok again and yet they’ve gone back to school. Obviously I can’t take the big kids out of high school, or Jonny, but the little two and my Mum and I will be having a second half term to make good!
And of the best bits, the children did still have some fun. Florence did a lot of study, Jimmy saw friends and magnet fished, the tiny two got to spend time with Jonny on his own (rarely happens) and we finished the week with a football tournament and a wonderful trip to the beach enjoying friend’s company. It wasn’t all bad but I know we can do better – so we will!
Nevertheless, here are the highlights!
