We’re massive fans of the Polka Theatre in London and have seen some absolutely brilliant productions there in the past, Charlie and Lola, Too Many Penguins, Gorilla are to name but a few and the latest in a long line up of truly awesome children’s theatre is Moomins Summer Madness!
Moomins Summer Madness at The Polka Theatre!
Moomins Summer Madness is showing now until 16th August 2014 so you have plenty of time to book your tickets but book your tickets you simply must remember to do! We thought it was truly magical, marvellous and sensational and even though it is aimed at children aged 4-8, Jimmy at 2 found it hilarious and sat rapt for the entire performance!
I mean take a look at this trailer to see for yourself… It really is very enticing!
We loved the little girl character and her screaching voice and we revelled in the strange world of the Moomins! So sweet, so different to anything else and so perfect for a little person audience!
I think the thing about Moomins is that they are just not like anything else and with their endearing faces and rotund tummies they seem to capture not just children but everyone’s attention just by the way they look. Since having been to the show Florence has spotted Moomins in shop windows and this to me says they’re coming back in fashion and are about to be a big hit once again!
The Moomins are just lovely!
The Polka Theatre is a charity and as well as brilliant productions to watch it also invites you in just to play in their indoor and outdoor spaces, take a look at their teddy bear museum and other exciting exhibitions and to enjoy something to eat on their train! Yes, there is a train in the restaurant!
We always have fun at Polka before and after the performances and stay as long as we can playing!
It is such a journey for us being over the other side of London but one which we are more than happy to make because we are not only passionate about theatre for children in general but we are passionate about Polka. They are the best!
Not been yet? Then it’s about time you visited don’t you think?!
Oh! And they also run workshops for children up to age 11! I bet they’re fabulous!
I was sent complimentary tickets to Moomins Madness in return for an honest review.
