Lotte from Berice Baby tagged me in the Mum tag a little while ago today. I read her super sweet post where she answered all the questions beautifully and now it’s my turn!
So… Here goes…
1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum, or a Working Mum?
Stay at home.
2. Would you have it any other way?
Unless I absolutely had to go back to work for financial reasons then I wouldn’t and I don’t understand why anyone would? This is the best job in the world and the thought of paying someone else to do it for me seems like madness!
3. Do you co-sleep?
Yep! I’m still feeding and the thought of having to get up and out of bed is enough to keep me co-sleeping but I actually think we all benefit from it in lots of ways!
4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?
That’s really tricky because I like ‘stuff’… I think I’d have to say my buggy though. I have a Bubgaboo Bee and a Donkey but don’t ask me to choose between them because I can’t!
Florence and Jimmy in the Donkey!
5. How many kids do you plan on having?
I’d have four or maybe even more but I think I can only persuade my husband to have one more which will be our third although he says we’ve got to move first!
6. Date night? How many nights per month?
I would say date night, actually going out of the house, is very infrequent. We don’t have family in London where we live so finding a baby sitter just doesn’t really happen much.
7. Your childs favourite show?
They both like very different things and are quite gender stereotypical in their viewing choices. Florence loves Disney and princesses while Jimmy is fond of anything car related but they both come together and absolutely LOVE Swashbuckle on CBeebies! I love watching them do the pirate cheer together and it’s so sweet that Jimmy calls pirates ‘eye patches’!
8. Name one thing you bought before you had your baby and never ended up using?
The cot. No one ever sleeps in it but it’s great for storing all the many blankets we seem to have accumulated…
9. Your child’s favourite food?
Apart from chocolate they’re both rather partial to spaghetti carbonara or carbonana as they (and we) now call it!
10. How many cars does your family have?
One. We didn’t have a car and then when I was pregnant with Florence my Grandma became very ill and passed away. Before she died she gave us her car and knew with a new baby how much difference it would make to our lives. I’ve left everything in it that she had, her mints, her lipstick and even her bottle of perfume. I can smell my Grandma in the car whenever I’m in it, probably down to the perfume but it feels like she’s always with us on journeys. The car key has a policeman on it that my Grandpa gave my Grandma as he was a policeman in the RAF and there is her St Christopher on the dashboard which she had in every car she owned. We touch it before we set off on any journey in a bit of a rutual.
11. Weight gain before pregnancy, during and after and now?
4 STONE with Florence and then two with Jimmy but I’m still a stone over what I started out with and must get rid of it soon!
I was a stone lighter before pregnancy!
12. Dream holiday with your kids?
Dream holiday for the children, well… It’d have to be Disney but where we got married in Lagos on the Algarve is a bit dreamy for families too!
Us on the Algarve last year!
13. Dream holiday without your kids?
Oh I don’t know? There’s so many places I want to go but I’d LOVE to go back to New York. Jonny and I had such a fabulous time there ten years ago and it would be awesome to do it again!
14. How has your life changed since your baby has been born?
How hasn’t it changed? But all for the better! Life was one long party in one way beforehand and now it’s one long party in a different way. I don’t remember what it was like or miss anything about before but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy what I was doing back then. I’ve just grown up and changed I guess. I do find myself saying things which remind me of my Mum so perhaps my life has changed and I’m turning into her, they say it happens to us all!
15. Finish the sentence: ‘It makes my heart melt to see … ‘
My children loving each other. It doesn’t get much better than that!
They get on so well and it makes my heart soar to see their love for each other!
16. Where do you shop for your kids?
Mainly from the Little Bird collection at Mothercare but I also really like Polarn O. Pyret.
17. Favourite makeup and skincare products?
I adore make up and skincare and this is very tricky to answer because I could list and list and list so I’m going to put my current top 4 items down for each category…
Skincare:
Clinique Clarifying Lotion, Clinique All About Eyes, Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream and Lush Lip Scrub.
Makeup:
Barry M Dazzle Dust, Clinique Extreme Pink Lipstick, Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker and Clinique Chubby Sticks.
18. Huggies or Pampers?
Pampers but I also really like Aldi nappies too!
19. Have you always wanted kids?
Yes! Always!
20. Best part about being a mum?
There’s too many best parts and no bad parts, not even the lack of sleep!
I tag:
Emily – Family Four Fun
Carolynne – Mummy Endeavours
Jo – My Monkeys Won’t Sit Still
Katy – Modern Mummy
What a lovely post Ruth and how very sweet that your Gran gave you her car! So special too that you feel she goes ob car journeys with you! Aww. Thanks for the tag. Looking forward to taking part and tagging others xx
I am pleased to see chocolate featuring in the top food list, same here! And I completely forgot about Barry M Dazzle dust- genius stuff and I need to go back and amend my list! X
