I saw my little sister the other day and she asked me where I’d got my coat. She thought it was new and really liked it. It was in fact from ‘New Look’ but a good few years ago and I realised I’ve not had anything new, clothes wise, for ages now! Well, not unless it had ‘maternity’ written in the label or came from the supermarket!
I used to love shopping and in particular shopping for jackets and coats. I’m not sure why, some people like bags, some shoes… I just like coats! I have three very special ones and they’re all from New Look. I have my grey leather jacket (it was an absolute bargain), my yellow suede (it’s way better than it sounds) bomber jacket and my green parka which is the one my sister liked so much the other night. I’ve had them for a decade at least but still wear them all the time. Since having children I think I may have neglected my own fashion for a while and it’s about time I added to my collection…
Me in my New Look parka just the other day, probably a decade after I first wore it! I love it because people always say I look thin when I’m wearing it. Think it must be the draw string round the middle!!
It just dawned on me, when she asked where I got it, that it’s been such a long time since I did actually buy something fashionable and new! I’ve always loved ‘New Look’ (and their coats – hooded leather jackets in particular) and the one in Westfield near to where I live is awesome! I don’t have hours to trawl round the shops these days but I think ‘New Look’ is a bit like a one stop shop isn’t it. They have everything, all at very reasonable prices and their clothes, as my jackets are testament to, last really well!
Perhaps this time next week when someone asks me where my fabulous jacket is from I will be able to tell them ‘New Look’ but instead of saying ‘oh but yonks ago’ I’ll be able to say, ‘Yeah, it’s new’! I’ve been checking out their on-line shop and I think I might just have already found a couple… A ‘New Look’ for me (finally) from where else but ‘New Look’! Let’s hope my wallet doesn’t mind being bashed too much!
