Norwich City Football Club Launches New Home Kit For 2022/2023 Season!
The Rocknrollerbaby boys unanimously agree, this kit is the nicest one NCFC have released in a long time! None of them were keen on last season’s number at all. In fact, both little boys chose only the away and third kits for Christmas presents, so unimpressed with it were they, but they hotly anticipated this upcoming season’s home kit to be right up their street with retro football vibes. And they were spot on!
Retro vibes indeed with the sublimated pin-stripe offered up from its 80s inspiration and coupled with a V-neck collar with matching sleeve trim. “80s football shirts were a golden era of design” (says Rocknroller Daddy), “I haven’t seen a shirt this good since then!” And the little ones to boot, with Jimmy’s penchant for anything 80s music related and a love of Stranger Things which devotes some heart to the era, likes this shirt “so much more than last year’s, it might be the best looking shirt I’ve ever seen!”. For Raffie, age 4, he just wants to look like his daddy and big brother and can’t wait to wear his “full kit plonker” (a line from Daddy when asked if he wanted to have just the shirt or the full kit once and he said “I’m not gonna be a…” to his first game of the season! Bring it on!
I won’t lie, like anything else football related it’s completely overpriced and non inclusive. Everything the game shouldn’t be basically! The Joma Sport created kit comes in VERY expensive when you’ve got to buy it for three of them! The infant kit, which thankfully as a small age 4 Raffie still fits into (age 3 sizing) is £40 for the whole caboodle. Pretty pricy huh! Wait for the junior prices then! Jimmy has the top in age 10 (£40), shorts in age 10 (£20) and socks in his shoe size (£10). The adult prices again are rather ridiculous and Jonny’s short sleeved shirt costs £55!
As a member you get 5% off, if you are season ticket holders (which the boys are in another bank breaking move) then the discount is 10%. A drop in the ocean of the overall price but something at least. The price of anything football related leaves me exasperated as yet again, it’s a privilege for those wealthy enough these days rather than something everyone can enjoy. Taking children to the football should be, as it was historially, something all could afford, a way of life and a great act of solidaroty. Unfortunately supporting your team these days is big business and it does take the shine off!
It is just such a lot of money for anything football related but and it shouldn’t be. End of. However, these are three very lucky boys who DO (for this season at least) have the privilege of watching their team every home game AND wearing the latest kit!
It was almost untenable for the boys to have new kits on the very day they were released. Fairiest grandmothers do treat well and we are very grateful. Any away kits will have to be end of season bargain purchases! They aren’t half happy with their new 2022/2023 season kits though – here’s hoping they actually get to see their team win this season! Last year, Jimmy’s first foray into live football, he didn’t get to see them do that at any of the home games, or one away game he attended, so here’s hoping. His devotion is proved though don’t you think, all that leaving the stadium deflated and still wanting to go back!
