How To Hold A Baby?!

Posted in Uncategorized

I remember when my sister was a baby (there’s a big gap between us) and I handed her to Jonny fully expecting him to be able to hold her, you know, properly… It was a bit weird then when he held her straight out in front of him, both arms stretched out. He was carrying her like she was some sort of bomb that he needed to get rid of as soon as possible and I suppose, in a way, […]

One Whole First Term At Big School!

Posted in Uncategorized

My baby, my tiny girl, has done one whole term at big school (or she will have done come the end of the week) and I am literally brimming with pride for her. She has got through a very rocky start and is now going from strength to strength in everything she does there. She is quite simply wonderful! She got her first school report yesterday and it was filled with As for effort and Bs for progress. I literally […]

A Bella Italia Supper!

Posted in Uncategorized

A while back Jimmy and I went for a super duper breakfast at Bella Italia on Irving Street just around the corner from Leicester Square. We enjoyed it lots and have been meaning to go back and try the main menu too; we do love a bit of Italian food and it’s such a good option with children! We were out for the day yesterfday with my good friend Katy from Modern Mummy and it seemed like the perfect time to […]

Well Covered In Joules!

Posted in Uncategorized

The winter is here and I am, as always, feeling the cold terribly. I do NOT like being cold and it feels very miserable indeed when it is coupled with grey clouds and a spattering of rain. It was such a day when I was choosing a coat and what got me more than anything was needing something which would be really snuggly and something which would be almost like being wrapped up in bed with my duvet keeping me […]

Netflix At Mahiki – All Hail King Julien!

Posted in Uncategorized

Yesterday saw the culmination of an almost full week of partying for me… It was, thankfully, day time and with the children (because I don’t think I could have managed another night out) but there was still champagne and glamour… Probably more glamour than I’ve ever seen before truth be told! We were invited to some special Netflix screenings of their new ‘All Hail King Julien’ of Madagascar fame and along with celebs like Pixie Lott, Jaime Winstone and rock royalty […]

Christmas Jumper Day!

Posted in Uncategorized

On Friday it was Christmas Jumper Day, a fun way to raise money for the very worthy and deserving Dave The Children! It’s a really simple way to raise money and the children really enjoyed wearing their jumpers. We just wanted to say a very big thank you to Mothercare who not only sent us ours but who also donated money when I sent them pictures of the children wearing them on social media. LOVE Mothercare!

The Cat In The Hat Again!

Posted in Uncategorized

Dr Seuss’s The Cat In The Hat is back on the London stage and well worth a look we can report after seeing it yesterday! This version is adapted by Katie Mitchell and will be playing at the Pleasance Theatre in Islington until Sunday 4th January 2015. Now, The Pleasance isn’t my ideal theatre location for children because of the many concrete steps and lack of a lift. The staff however were very helpful and assisted me carrying the buggy both […]

Orderella!

Posted in Uncategorized

I love going out for drinks and this week I feel like a proper gal about town. I went for supper in The Arch, Mayfair on Monday night, was out in thronging Covent Garden at The Porterhouse come Wednesday, will be at a house party tonight and then am making a visit to Mahiki (yes, Mahiki) on Sunday (we’ll gloss over the fact it’s a day time event and I’m taking the children because heck, it’s MAHIKI)! Anyone would think […]

The Holdalls’ Christmas Adenture!

Posted in Uncategorized

Another day, another theatre trip. Today we went off to one of our favourite theatre venues, The Greenwich Theatre, with a little pal of ours and his Mummy and had a little one’s day out. The big kid’s at school it was a day for just me and Jimmy to bond over some great performance and spends some quality time together. I suspected it would be good as we’ve seen other performances produced by Gomito Productions and we weren’t disappointed […]

Happy Christmas From The Half Shell Heroes!

Posted in Uncategorized

When I was about 9 years old I was thoroughly fascinated with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I was so like Florence and very definitely NOT into boyish things but somehow, where ‘He Man’ and ‘Thunder Cats’ were very definitely in that category, the Turtles weren’t… I’m not sure what made them appeal to me when on paper they should have been for ‘boys’ but they made that cross over and I’ve remembered ever since. I even used to make […]
