My lovely little cousin is getting married this summer on the south coast and what comes with weddings is, of course, wedding outfits! However, this particular wedding is not a traditional one and ‘relax’ is the name of the game with smart/casual being the chosen dress code. We will, as is necessary when at the beach in this country, be eating fish and chips and playing on the sand so… While normal wedding attire isn’t suitable thought does need to go into it.
I still want to dress up, just perhaps not as much as usual and I do want to be comfortable too. I also didn’t want to spend a fortune as the wedding, which is taking place over a bank holiday, is quite far from where we live and fairly expensive for us to attend… In step my new found friend in shopping tools lovethesales.com. Blooming brilliant idea! You input the details of roughly what you’re after, in my case a midi length dress in a size 12, and then it brings up everything in the sales (yes, this is sale shopping my friend) from 500 of the biggest UK retailers! FABULOUS! I am honestly so impressed with this idea, so simple but SO brilliant! Why didn’t I think of it eh?
Anyway… What did I choose for this boho style beach wedding? Well… Take a look! I chose a non trad black as a main colour but then with this being a non trad wedding I didn’t think it would matter too much. As this dress, from the House of Fraser sale, has a beige underlay it kind of feels much lighter than a black dress anyway and I think it’s perfect for a wedding!
I shall be teaming the dress with one or two statement pieces of jewellery like my cuff which came from Spitalfield’s Market, big sunnies (Primark) and metallic temporary tattoos which came in a pack from Interplay for Florence but which had so many fab feathers and birds tiny enough for finger art that I had to snaffle some away for myself! I shall also be wearing minimalistic make-up with a key statement in my bright pink lippy! I’m loving Clinique Chubby Sticks at the moment for ease of use and size for my hand bags as they slip neatly in any bag (Plushest Punch is my bright pink colour of choice)! They go on well too with a lastability which is much better than lots of other lippies I have tried!
I obviously need to find some shoes too I suppose… Best get back to the shopping then hadn’t I?! However, regardless of footwear the only other accessory I’m gonna need at this wedding is laughter! Check out this beach hut in Cromer, Norfolk, what a fabulous name!
Was it cold that day? it does look like haha, but you look so happy! Love this post! Really positive! I need to explore zig zag and these birds tattoo’s! amazing! Enjoy thne weeding!

I love the idea of a laid-back beach wedding, I hope it’s wonderful – and this looks like the perfect outfit for it.Some neat little strappy sandals and you’ll be all set! x
