A while back I found the perfect farm for an Easter treat! Just before Jimmy was born Florence, Jonny and I took a trip to Willows Farm Village in Hertfordshire and had the most superb day! The sun was shining and Florence had a ball bouncing on the giant castle, taking trips on the old-fashioned fair ground rides, playing in the sand pit (when I say sand pit there’s a few and they’re quite extensive) and meeting all the animals! We all especially enjoyed meeting and getting to hold some freshly born baby chicks! And that was all completely aside from the Easter Eggstravaganza where we all got to participate in a wonderful Easter Egg hunt and dance with the Easter Bunny!
We left Willows chattering away about what a lovely time we’d had and looking forward to another visit! Well, it seems that time is about to come, for in just over a week we are all set to visit again but this time for a whole new experience! They are, just as they did at Easter, hosting a special festive event and this time the big man himself will be there and the children will not only get to meet him, get a key to his toy shop and unlock a special gift for themselves but they’ll also be able to write him a letter and he will reply straight away! (Once you pay to get in all the activities including Santa’s Grotto are no extra cost)!
The Santa’s Grotto Spectacular and Grotto Festive Fun has a whole programme which includes festive fun fair rides, Christmas sing-a-longs and Nativity stories! The children will also get to meet reindeer as well as all the ordinary farm animals of course! The Santa programme of events is running every weekend from now until 15th December when it then will be open daily until Christmas Eve! Santa really is working right up to the last-minute this year it seems!
I can’t tell you how adorable this farm is! It’s perfect and I can only imagine totally magical with this Christmas vibe! Even when it gets too cold to be outside I know Florence will have a fab time in their humongous indoor play area so the day can’t be spoilt by weather even – how many British days out can you say that about?! They had Easter’s nail hit right on the head and it sounds like Christmas will be just as much fun. We are actually going to meet Father Christmas a couple of times but it’s at Willows Farm that we shall make the biggest deal of it. We live in East London and it took us half an hour to drive there last time, you can even get the tube there it’s so close to the capital! Can’t wait to re-visit our favourite farm and we know exactly what day on our advent calendar will bring that treat! I’ll report back after our visit!
Easter was so much fun at Willows! With a Festive Christmas sparkle I can only imagine it will be even more magical!
Wonder if this Donkey will be taking part in the nativity scene?!
