Willy Wonka Costume – How To Make!

Not spending much, putting a tiny smidge of effort in and scavenging the house for things we already had was the order of the day for this year’s World Book offering with Raffie choosing to be Willy Wonka (like Daddy) and Posie going for Rapunzel!

While Jonny’s Willy Wonka outfit is all from a shop, Raffie’s looked far better and it was simply things we already had, put together, with the special added element of a Wonka bar decorated by me, complete with a golden ticket! You can see how I made Posie’s Rapunzel outfit, complete with her golden hair to let down, here. But for Raffie, all I did was find him:
Black boots, colourful trousers, a waistcoat from another fancy dress moment, scarf also from the dressing up box, likewise with the top hat, and my navy velvet waistcoat. The accessories were Gram’s walking cane she bought for holiday (just in case) and the Wonka Bar which was a Tony’s Chocolonely bar with the Toney’s wrapper removed and a sleeve made by me, with pens and felt tips. I also added a golden ticket which was again, just paper coloured in by me!

Super easy and lots of fun while being very cheap – I only spent £3 on the chocolate bar and bought nothing else new! Especially fun for Raffie when he got to eat the bar of chocolate on his way out of school on World Book Day (frankly, I’m surprised he lasted so long)!
