Looking at my drinks collection and it tells me I’m somewhat of a drinks fan. I haven’t even got my whole collection out at the moment because I’m mid house move and some of my faves have already been packed away. I’m rather partial to the tipple though so had to keep some faves out!
While some people embarked on dry January after the excesses of Christmas I am more of a Ginuary type person – don’t laugh it’s an actual thing! But just because it’s the 1st of Feb today I see no reason not to contiue… I got really into Sloe Gin over the festive period with my 31Dover.com delivery of their beautiful Sipsmith’s bottle and as that one’s very nearly empty I’ve had a new delivery from the fantastic drinks delivery service which I’ve been tucking into (sociably, not on my own I have to add) this weekend!
My new bottle of Elephant Sloe Gin from 31Dover.com!
And I’ve been enjoying it three ways this weekend! On it’s own (which is delicious and feels perfectly acceptible for a wintery evening), with some really good tonic and… Because we’re in the mood for celebrating (now house ahoy), with champagne too! Ok, technically we had it with some prosecco as I’m keeping the champagne, which was a gift from a good friend, for the day we move in but I now know the Sloe Gin goes really well with bubbles so come on moving day! Also, check out my 50p flamingo glasses from IKEA, LOVE them!
31Dover offers Free next day deliver on orders over £100, gift packed with personal messages in beautifl boxes. They say that combining the taste of the premium London Dry Gin with the classic flavour of fresh sloe berries, Elephant Sloe Gin introduces a warm, well-balanced, sweet and fruity update to the award-winning spirit. Macerated in Elephant gin for several months, the wild sloe berries add a light and sweet, yet richly rounded, fruity aroma. In order to retain the highest amount of aromatic flavour components, Elephant Sloe Gin remains unfiltered and can be identified by a natural cloudiness. The result is a red-tinted spirit that unfolds a complex bouquet bursting with flavours.
Compared to other sloe gins, Elephant Sloe Gin has a relatively low sugar content paired with a higher alcohol volume of 35 percent. This deliberately discreet addition of sugar triggers a perfect balance between the tart and sweet notes – without the need for additional artificial flavours. This also makes it ideally suited to mixing in cocktails as well as enjoying it neat.
Each bottle is custom- made and adorned with handwritten labels and the purple label marked with the production year and bottle number of each batch. A natural cork with a hand-twisted cord and seal closes every bottle.
As with the London Dry Gin, the company donates 15 percent of all proceeds from every bottle of Elephant Sloe Gin to two African foundations that are committed to save the African elephant from extinction.
