Last weekend we were invited to a party which promised lots of pink, glitter and dolls with wings! Being the mother of a very nearly three-year old girl and how could I decline! We personally had never heard of the Winx Club before because until now Florence has been too young for it but after a quick google I knew instantly that it was something once introduced to, she wouldn’t be looking back from – I wasn’t wrong. So, for those of you not in the know the Winx Club are a group of gals living in a magic realm who have magical powers! They use them for good fighting against the gang of Trix, a trio of witches from Cloudtower Academy, who are evil! It is a modern fantasy adventure series shown on Nickelodeon and follows the six best friends who have formed the Winx Club to thwart the attempts of the Trix to overcome and rule their world, Magix! The girls, who are enrolled in Alfea College, the finest fairy school in the magic realm transform into beautiful fairies when trouble arises and with the help of the dreamy teenage boys from Redfountain School they have everything on their side! The party was to launch the fifth animated series which will regularly air on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 7.30am on Nickelodeon and we had SO much fun!
Florence was especially delighted with her new-found fave programme as not only are they girlie girls with fairy wings but one of them is called Flora! What’s even more perfect is that there is a string of toys and merchandise which means she can dress up and pretend to be Flora from Winx Club! As well as dressing up outfits which will be available to buy in soon there are collectible 11.5″ dolls from Jakks Pacific, deluxe Fashion Dolls and other great toys! Florence and I enjoyed the preview screening of the first in the new series and she has been playing with her new doll ever since! The Winx Club is great fun and so sparkly I’d imagine every little girl in the land would be delighted to play with the toys! Florence adores hers and was especially pleased with all the accessories the basic doll comes with, a dolly with hair, a hairbrush and BOOTS which come on and off, that’s all a girl wants to play with really! I remember being little and I’d have loved it too so I don’t blame her! Bring on Saturday 17th November when the new series starts at 7.30am on Nickelodeon!
