WIN CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY GOODIES TO CELEBRATE THE OPENING OF THE SPECTACULAR NEW MUSICAL!
I have very special memories of my Daddy reading me bed time stories when I was a child and the books that stick out in my memory are of course, as I am sure is the same with most children from my generation and beyond, by the author Roald Dahl!
My Father read me all of them I think and I have a memory for each one. ‘Fantastic Mr Fox‘ was the one we read snuggled up on my little green bed at his house, ‘The BFG‘ made us laugh and laugh as he did the most fabulous voices, ‘Danny the Champion of the World‘ was as my parents were separating and became a world I could disappear off into… ‘The Twits‘ was the one he started and I couldn’t put down once he’d finished for the night and would have to sneak the light on to have another read and ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine‘ I think is the first book I read from cover to cover on my own after my Father had read it to me because I loved it so much I needed to hear it again.
I probably have a story for every story really but there’s one that will always stick out… Charlie! For everyone has read Charlie haven’t they? Well for me ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory‘ was the first one my Daddy and I read and I remember just being amazed! AMAZED! And then after the book I remained a big fan of the story. I LOVED Veruca Salt; the way she said ‘I want a golden goose Daddy, I want a golden goose NOW!’
To celebrate the opening night on 25th of June I have been lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to give five lucky winners a copy of the wonderful Charlie and the Chocolate Factory musical tie-in paperback plus an EXCLUSIVE Charlie and the Chocolate Factory travel card holder!

When Charlie wins a golden ticket to the weird and wonderful Wonka Chocolate Factory, it’s the chance of a lifetime to feast on the sweets he’s always dreamed of. But beyond the gates astonishment awaits, as down the sugary corridors, and amongst the incredible edible delights, the five lucky winners discover not everything is as sweet as it seems.
Featuring ingenious stagecraft, the wonder of the original story that has captivated the world for almost 50 years is brought to life with music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman (Grammy® winners for Hairspray; Smash), a book by award-winning playwright and adaptor David Greig (The Bacchae; Tintin In Tibet), set and costume designs by Mark Thompson (Mamma Mia!; One Man, Two Guvnors) and choreography by Peter Darling (Billy Elliot The Musical; Matilda The Musical).
