I Love Lucy!

I love Lucy!

Nope, I’m not talking about Lucielle Ball, in fact the only thing I know about her 50’s sit com is what I’ve seen of it in the back ground while Julia Roberts is having her carpet picnic in Pretty Woman. Nope, today, I am talking about my lovely friend Lucy!

I didn’t want to write a rant or a moan today as has traditionally become my wont for a Friday. Instead I want to use this post as an appreciation platform to let my friend know how special she is to me!

I met Lucy at baby group when our girls were tiny and she fast became a friend, like a few of my Mummy friends, who I just know will be one for life. She’s funny and helpful and incredibly capable. Of everything. She took me under her wing and we became a bit of a team!

Today I want to say a big thank you to her for always being there and always, not just helping but WANTING to help me. She picks me up in her car if it’s raining and does a whole host of other little but very appreciated things ALL the time! But it’s not what Lucy does for me that makes me think she’s so special, she just is! And the woman knows the answer to just about ALL child related queries too! She says it’s because her oldest is 12 and she’s probably done it before, whatever it is, but I suspect she’d know the answers anyway, she’s just one of those people!

Yesterday when Jimmy was poorly but Florence had ballet and then we had parents evening afterwards Lucy just rang me up and said, ‘I’ll take the girls to ballet then bring them to yours for a play while you go to parents evening so that Jimmy doesn’t have to go out’. I was literally trying to make a plan of action when she phoned. She is so very kind!

Lucy is one of the reasons I find my heart not fully wanting to move out of London, all my reasons are people related… I’m so lucky to have such lovely friends and today I just want to say to Lucy how grateful I am to have her!

MY LIFE WITH TWO!

This week has been lots of fun! We went to Thorndon Country Park, home of the Gruffalo with friends and we also swam at the Olympic Aquatic Centre which was very exciting! Florence, my little water baby, took it all in her stride!

WARNING! Proud Mummy moment coming up…

It’s also been parents evening this week which made me feel super proud! Her teachers are very pleased with her and she’s far exceeding expectations – well I knew that of course but it’s lovely to be told all the same. I love how she wants to learn and reading is a pleasure for her, long may it reign!

Poor old Jimmy has another tummy bug and was sick all over the Mothercare shop we were visiting for their brand new store opening yesterday. The poor thing is like me as a child I think and picks up lots of tummy bugs! Long may it not continue!

Here are some of my favourite pictures from the week!
