Art And Wine – A Chilean Night In Shoreditch!

This is a Mummy blog but occasionally I get invited along to some adult only events too. It doesn’t make them not about me of course, a Mummy is still a Mummy if she is having an evening off and I got invited to a pretty fab event of this nature just last week so I had to tell you all about it!

Did I fancy an evening of art and wine in my old stomping ground Shoreditch? Well of course I did! Anything with free wine and I don’t usually take too much persuasion and this event promised a taster of the Chilean brand of wine Concha Y Toro which is said to be beautifully blended and complex.

The exhibition ‘11677.595’ by Chilean artist MACAY was very interesting. Set in the Red Gallery in London’s East End, party capital for fashionistas and eclectic artists, it promised an enjoyable evening and that it was. The Red Gallery, I found, is very family friendly. It has exhibition space and a massive court yard with a big sand pit. They welcome families to come and have a drink while the children play and it’s good to know its there!

The evening was fun and funky!

MACAY’s pieces were pretty old fashioned photographs she has found on her travels and appliqued other pictures on to. It was probably all a bit over my head but it was enjoyable all the same and the wine was delicious. I particularly liked the Sauvignon Blanc which was very crisp and not at all acidic! The reds were good too! I brought a bottle home so will definitely get to enjoy some more!

I think everyone enjoyed the art AND the wine of course!
