Asda Extend Kids Eat For A Quid Until The End Of 2023 – And Make The Deal Even Better!
It’s not often you unearth a truly no catches, great deal and even less so coming from big organisations; there’s usually SOMETHING in it for them somewhere along the line, right?! However, for a good while now and in direct response to the cost of living crisis (thanks to government who believe in nepotism, keeping the rich, rich, poor, poor and have no idea of what real life is like for a lot of people) Asda supermarket have been making an offering for every child to be able to eat well, once a day, in their supermarket adjoined cafes in the UK, for the cost of just one British pound.
So, what’s the deal?
This “feed kids for a quid” initiative began for Asda before Christmas 2022 and was due to run only until the end of that year. It was so popular and so welcomed the decision was made to extend it until the end of March 2023 and now, the good guys at Asda have extended it again until the end of 2023 (at least)!
Since the deal began it has always included a main hot choice (there are cold alternatives) and a Capri Sun drink. For the new and improved menu (with new food choices) to launch it into the latest extension, it now also includes a piece of fruit. All for a pound!
So, here’s the key information for the Asda Cafe Kid’s £1 meals:
- There is no mandatory adult purchase.
- You can utilise the deal all times of day (cafe opening times), every single day, come rain or shine, week days, weekends and in the holidays.
- Each child (as many as you are feeding) is entitled to one meal for £1 in Asda Cafes per day.
- Each entire meal will cost you just £1 consisting of a drink, main and a piece of fruit.
- The offer is open to all children under the age of 16.
- There are NO catches!
New to the menu are two pasta dishes (a meatballs, and a hidden veg pasta) and the piece of fruit. Sides to accompany the chicken nuggets and fish fingers) are chips or salad and peas or beans. The drinks are Capri Sun in either orange or blackcurrant flavours. In my experience they are very accommodating and have swapped items on the all day breakfast for my friend’s kids to make it more to their liking and portions are substantial. Enough to fill even an older child.
It is also worth noting that they will offer a totally FREE baby food pouch with ANY purchase.
What do Asda gain?
As far as I can see simply the satisfaction that they are giving back, doing some good and providing great community outreach. Are you more likely to shop in store because you’re there? Maybe, but their supermarket prices are in your favour anyway compared to a lot of their competitors so you’re not being diddled if you do and I genuinely don’t think this is why they are doing it. I am not working with Asda at the moment but I have done in years gone by and I regularly work with George at Asda on their clothing ranges so I know their ethics are just really, really good in general. Their charity work is beyond and I’m always proud to partner with them. On this occasion however, I feel it important to note that I am not in any form of partnership or collaboration of the paid, or indeed charitable variety. They have not asked me to post and nor do they have any knowledge that I am doing so. I am sharing because this is something I utilise with my own children fairly frequently and I know that it’s not just a really good deal for everyone (and everyone IS welcome, whatever their financial circumstances) but it’s a lifeline for a some and the difference between a good meal or not for a lot of kids so spread the word!
