British Summer Time Festival!

On Sunday we went with the children and friends to the very last day of the British Summer Time Festival. I’d run a competition on my blog to win tickets and the more I wrote about it the more it made me want to go myself! I knew it’d be a great day out for the whole family with a really chilled festival vibe and I just had a hunch that even though the acts were geared up for little ones and teens with the likes of Justin Fletcher on the main stage and artists like Collabro and Union J being the headliners, the adults would have a fab time too!

The festival had seen the likes of The Who, Kylie and Blur over it’s fortnight run and the grand finale was set to be a really huge family day out!

When we arrived, in true British summer time style, the clouds darkened and the rain came crashing down! Luckily as we’re Brits we didn’t care too much, sheltered for a bit and then ventured out as soon as a break in the clouds permitted. We saw Titan The Robot, a host of familiar characters from our favourite shows, watched BMX biking and rocked out at the main stage! We even joined in with a winning world record attempt to sing-along to ‘Let It Go’ from Frozen.

Look how much fun we had!

The rain absolutely couldn’t spoil our fun and after the sing-along, almost as if it gave in because it wasn’t beating us, the sun came out! The children were having a blast and with a great big cheers for the grown ups we all got into the festival spirit!

As if we weren’t having enough fun already, PlayStation Music invited us back stage with them to enjoy some intimate sessions with some of the headliners and then meet the bands personally. The children (and my friend Kirstie it has to be said) LOVED Union J and they were such sweet boys posing for pictures with the children!

The Unon J boys were back stage enjoying PlayStation games prior to their set and chatting to the children who were impressed with the gaming skills – we don’t have a PlayStation yet but I reckon Florence might be rather keen to get one now! Our little ones were so thrilled with their celebrity meeting they took pictures into school to show their teachers the next day! Thanks to PlayStation Music they had such a treat! With Spotify now available on PlayStation Music, you can use Spotify to listen to your favourite songs, albums and playlists on demand on PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3. For more details on PlayStation Music visit www.PlayStation.com/Music. I don’t upload to YouTube very often but I couldn’t resist this cheeky vid of the band singing that I took. Look how lovely they are taking fans phones and doing selfies – lovely lads!

Well, with all that excitement what else was there to do but enjoy some yummy food, have some ice cream and have a snooze in the sun (boys!) before heading home! Fabulous day out!

Florence is a girl after my own heart and suits a festival perfectly. Flowers in her hair, meeting boy bands, rocking out at the main stage… What a gorgeous day!
