Christmas 2022!

We had a lovely, lovely time off despite kicking off with Scarlet Fever for poor little Raffie who tested positive for the Strep A virus and felt pretty dreadful. He soon got better with antibiotics (thank goodness we could get hold of some) and we felt very lucky that he was back to himself before long. We had long days and late nights of having fun with each other. We went out to the theatre and ate good food, drank a little alcohol (us not the kiddos), had the most brilliant day with our families for Christmas Day, had a birthday party for Florence, another birthday celebration for Jonny, enjoyed New Year’s Eve with family and friends and though we are exhausted, it was such a great time. I feel very flat that the boys have gone back to school today, Jonny yesterday and Florence will be back after the weekend. Ho hum, we just have to look forward to the next celebration and prepare and plan for that to keep us busy! Happy New Year!

Our Christmas holidays 2022 in pictures!

We finished school and came home to a Friday Night Treat Tea with a Christmas theme, of course!
Jimmy joined in!
Posie loved it!
And then we kicked off the Christmas fun with a trip to Pensthorpe!
Oh it was cold!
But fun!
We had a lovely lunch!
Which everyone enjoyed!
And then we went to meet Father Christmas!
It was very exciting!
We’re pretty convinced it is the real one at Pensthorpe!
Then it was Maddermarket panto time to see our friend Anna!
Jimmy stayed home to watch the football with Jonny!
But he missed out!
Uncle Phil came to see us!
Only ever so briefly but it was lovely to see him!
Then poor Raffie got scarlet fever!
And nits! Which he ever so delightfully shared the wealth on! W
And the washing machine broke!
So we spent a lot of money in the laundrette!
But hey, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a bit of nits and poorly!
JUST what you need with nits and scarlet fever – a broken washing machine meaning this lot (not even a drop in the ocean of my washing) went to the laundrette! It was a moment!
Followed by food therapy at Wagas with besties from London up early for Florence’s party!
Then it was time for Florence’s party!
Which meant I got to spend time with my London lot at too and boy did I suffer the next day for Christmas Eve!
However, it was off to see the Kidz Pop Party who wait for no mum’s hangover!
Kiddos loved it!
It felt very inclusive and inviting!
I think Raffie enjoyed it the most!
Our Kidz Pop Party gang!
Then home to discover the elves had left us Christmas Eve Boxes!
And to put the star on top of the tree!
And write a last minute letter to Father Christmas!
The joy!
Followed by the annoyance of having to go to bed!
So that he could come and leave the stockings!
Chocolate being the best bit!
All round!
And our tradition of bagels for breakfast!
Was followed by one main present!
And more joy!
Even from those who said they didn’t want one!
This is the best bit! Watching them!
Honestly think he was more happy about the bottle of Prime but he loved these too!
Not as much as Posie liked her broom set!
The table!
Non classy but colourful!
And fun!
With our HUGE Christmas plates!
And our roast dinner buffet on the decorating table!
Turkey, beef and gammon!
With loads of trimmings!
Crackers!
Hats!
Jokes!
And fun!
Before food!
And loads of it!
And fizzy drinks!
And pudding!
She was quite keen on the Yule log!
Then family presents!
A bit of reindeer costume enforcement!
More Christmas pyjamas and another late night!
After a truly lovely Christmas Day!
Then the rest of the week was filled with food! Basically!
And family fun!
Seeing extended at Jonny’s house!
Enjoying being with each other!
More magic for the little ones!
And relaxing for the big!
Then it was time to get ready for our teenager!
13!
A birthday breakfast at Bills!
Which was lush!
This one had the best hair!
And this one the best face pulls!
While this one ate the most!
Always with a side kick!
Special girl turning 13!
Isn’t she fab at thirteen!
The little’n’s!
Next up bowling!
Where everyone joined in!
And the slots!
Which was fun!
Before it was time to take the birthday girl home to presents!
Ready to open!
With a bit of help!
Best gifts!
And then time to get ready for our birthday/NYE party!
I do bring a platter!
So there’s always SUCH good food!
And plenty of it!
Which makes the party brilliant!
And exciting as everyone always goes to much effort!
With delicious offerings!
What a table!
The friends and family were pretty ace too!
Kids had such a great time together!
Ringing in the New Year!
And my little girl’s to the minute she was born picture!
Which I just adore taking with her!
And then just as we recover from one birthday and New Year, it’s onto another birthday gang member!
The celebrations keep coming in our house!
Well, he was very pleased!
Little monkey just cashing in on Daddy’s birthday fun!
Still in Christmas jarmies!
What a gang!
He did a bit of birthday modelling!
Tried to have a Father and sons birthday picture but only one son was initially willing!
One son was very definitely not!
Bit he finally agreed and then the boys went off to the football!
We pushed on with one more family meal at Pizza Express in birthday celebration!
Where we all toasted Jonny/Daddy/Uncle Jonny!
Another great birthday celebration!
What fun we’ve had!
