Christmas Gifting For Teen Girls!

I don’t know about you but finding that perfect gift for my teenagers is far harder than buying the inexpensive bits and bobs which make the little two happy. And when it comes to my teenaged daughter, the presents seem to be way more expensive than for my son who is happy with a set of Lynx and some new socks it seems.
It’s official folks, teenage girls are hard to buy for, an expensive to boot. Who knew this? Well, my Mum for a start! She says she remembers it well and has been warning me for years and yet here I am, still shocked to discover that my purse is now not my own ,and on top of that, what’s mine also seems to be hers too.
But, I have some tips and tricks which could make choosing for the teenage girl in your life not only an affordable experience, but one which will have her delighted to boot!
- With TikTok dance crazes still very much the in thing, all the girlies want to learn new routines and show off their skills! What better than a dance class at Pineapple Studios. The classes are all drop in and cost around the £12 mark which makes it a treat which won’t break the bank while still wowing the recipient of a Pineapple Dance Studio voucher. She will get to choose a class in the style of dance she prefers and tailor it to her skill level from beginner to adavnced!
- Jewellery, it’s ALL about the stacking and layering with the teens these days, who are far more discerning than I ever was. They want to layer their wrists, adorn their necks and decorate their ears with the really good stuff – “necklace for teenage girl” is the hot topic of all their searches so be ahead of the game, know what they want before they even know and think 90s, layers and petite to not go far wrong!
- Make-up – You may think that’s an easy choice but no, no it isn’t! While my generation were happy with a Heather Shimmer lippy from Rimmel, these days they want paraben free, designer kits that make the green tick bling on their ingredients app. Choose things which are natural, untested on animals and which primarily come from Space NK and you won’t go far wrong!
- Same goes for skin care, the thing I didn’t think was a big deal until I started to get wrinkles. The girls of today are ahead of the game and with their skin care fridges (another solid idea if they haven’t got one already), follow the same rules as with make-up and you won’t go far wrong!
- A “Starbees gifty!” – Even though I have said it in the exact same terminology that my daughter uses, I can already hear her saying “cringe” and my use of the words, so, to you and me that’ll be a Starbucks voucher. Gift them into Matcha (pronounced matchaaaaaah if you’re a teenaged girl) heaven on demand and you’ll be very popular indeed (as Glinda sings)!
- And talking of Glinda, you can’t go far wrong with cinema vouchers – yes, it is all about the vouchers for these girlies and they love a girl date with the big screen, so, whether you buy an annual pass (the gold star of presents), or a voucher to pick a couple of movies, they will be thrilled to have a couple of evenings out in the bag!
- Anything, and I mean ANYTHING, from Brandy Melville; be it the classic heart socks, or something from the new collection – you’re onto a winner! Find yourself losing the will to live as you queue in the world’s smallest shop, for one size (tiny) clothing you don’t agree with, with rude staff and a ridiculous returns policy (basically, you can’t) and console yourself with the fact a teenage girl will swoon as she opens up literally whatever it is you have purchased!
- A portable mug – I’m not kidding, it sounds like such an easy present doesn’t it?! But where’s the catch? Ok, brace yourself, because obviously there IS a catch! Teenage girls don’t want a mug from Sainsburys or Asda… No, no no! These mugs need to be incredibly expensive and from LuLuLemon. Sorry folks, there’s no getting away from it. This one is a pricey one but… You will be getting it right and smiles will be abundant!
- Another not cheap but good choice would be an Instant camera like the Instax. Think Polaroid but… A little bit cooler and a lot more expensive on the films front. However, it will be a worthwhile investment as you can buy films for all the little presents going forwards!
- Time. Nope, not even slightly joking and hear me out before you rubbish this one away. It won’t be entirely free, it will probably cost you some sushi, a bubble tea and maybe a trip to Zara and H&M to pick up a few bits but… Promise her a girls day together and she will be thrilled to go out and have fun with Mummy. They’re still our little girls at heart and you’re never too old to be taken out to lunch with your Mum, eh?!
And that’s my toppest list of a teenage girl – hopefully you will find some affordable treats, special ideas and gain a little bit of insight into what works for a girl in 2025, it’s pretty similar to us girls from the 90s, just a bit swisher and with way more expertise on the eyebrows!
