For a little bit of Mummy entertainment and a little bit of an ‘Ahhhh factor’ you can’t go wrong with a touch of ‘seasonal baby dress up’! When they’re tiny it’s probably the only time we’ll get away with making our offspring put on costumes to make the whole family swoon so we may as well take advantage!
For her first two Christmas days I dressed Florence up like a reindeer, I can’t remember where I got the outfit from now but I know that it still fits her so yet again she will be one of Santa’s little helpers for the day. Well, just until we get round to Granny and Papa’s so that everyone sees her, I expect I’ll let her remove it after that and she can have a lovely Christmas dress for underneath it!
Florence in her outfit Christmas 2010 and again last year! The same one she’ll wear this year too – it’s quite roomy!
Florence also has had special Christmas baby grows or pyjamas each year too. I know it might seem like an extravagance, to buy special clothes and outfits for the day but it is something special and hey, Jimmy is wearing the baby grows she had for her first Christmas this year so they get more use if they then get passed down and that reindeer outfit has been excellent value!
Because the reindeer outfit still fits Florence and won’t be passed on just yet, I had to find something special for Jimmy too (which is good cause it’s nice to have something new too) and Mothercare have an absolutely superb range of outfits and Christmas pyjamas which are irresistible! For boys they do a Santa Dress-Up outfit and for girls there’s a Mrs Santa one – how cute! They’re really just velour baby grows with detail and embellishments so they’re absolutely no less comfortable to wear than a regular baby grow! I think the Father Christmas outfit is just lovely and it comes with a sweet little hat too! What baby wouldn’t look adorable on Christmas morning wearing this one! They will both have their Christmas pyjamas for bed and Florence will have a Christmas dress with her outfit over the top ready to be discarded but for Jimmy I need an outfit which he can wear all day so that he’s not constantly changing, it really does have to be comfortable (Florence’s one isn’t) and this one ticks all the boxes!
Florence holds Jimmy up to the camera to show off the Santa Dress-Up outfit from Mothercare! Just love the boots and detailing which is all part of the baby grow. The only separate is the adorable little hat!
So, it does tick all the boxes but I think actually I’m going to go with the Mothercare Reindeer Dress-Up outfit instead… Well, I like continuity and as we have one little reindeer already, we may as well have two! This one is the same material as the Santa and again an all in one so just as comfortable as a regular baby grow but this one doesn’t have a separate hat, instead, there is a hood with reindeer antlers on it! Oh my goodness Jimmy looks cute in it – look!
How CUTE is he!
So that’s his day outfit sorted and he’ll be wearing the hand me down Christmas baby grow from Florence in bed… Now just for some pyjamas and a Christmas dress for her and we’re sorted! I like Mothercare clothes because they’re really good value (the Christmas stuff is already in the sale FYI) and you know they’re a brand you can trust. The quality is always superb and that’s what really matters after all! I think these adorable reindeer pyjamas might just have to be the ticket for Florence cause they’re just too sweet, feel lovely and soft and you know they’ll just last and last! I’ve had other pyjamas from Mothercare which have been washed and washed and washed yet they’re still in good enough condition to pass on to Jimmy! These reindeer ones are a good idea because they could be for a boy or a girl so will maximise value! For the day time and under her outfit (for when it comes off) I think I like the look of this Printed Lead Twill Dress. It was only £9 full price but is just £6 at the moment – bargain! It’s festive colours but could definitely be worn afterwards and it kind of looks old-fashioned like one of my old Mothercare dresses which Florence loved and always still asks to wear but she’s too big for now! Ooooh I’m So looking forward to Christmas and getting my little ones all dressed up!
Florence in the Mothercare dress I used to wear 30 years ago that she too has now grown out of. I’m thrilled to have found something similar in style in their collection today!
