Dream Toys 2024: The Top 20 Toys For Christmas!

It’s official! The top 20 toys have been announced for Christmas 2024 and with something for every age range and pocket ,there’s bound to be something you’ll add to your list after reading!

Voted for by an independent panel of toy retailers and experts you can expect to find only the toys which are the going to be the most sought after this year and with just 6 weeks to go until the big day, the time to strike is now! Last year saw parents spending hit 10% more than the previous year with the high street making a come back as festive shopping took over. This year is set to increase more and come on, you do NOT want to be the parent driving from Smyths to Smyths in the hope of find the last one (I’ve been there my friends), so get organised, check out what’s hot here and now, and get shopping!

In no particular order, the top 20 has a staggering quarter of their toys from one retailer alone and that’s the toy giant Spin Master! Their GM, Richard Disckson, said:

“We are absolutely thrilled to have not only one but an incredible five toys from Spin Master selected as part of the DreamToys top 20 Toys for Christmas. DreamToys is widely regarded as the ultimate guide to the best toys for Christmas and the inclusion of five products highlight the diverse and innovative range of products we offer, further cementing our status as a leading global children’s toy & entertainment company. This is a testament to our commitment to creating high-quality, imaginative, and engaging toys that bring joy to children around the world.”

From Spin Master:

Hatchimals Alive Mystery Hatch Pufficorn Egg – £64.99

This was my absolute favourite toy of the day I can say without hesitation. There were others I loved but the Hatchimal took the edge for me because it’s so innovative and realistic in the way that it hatches. It feels like a little piece of magic watching your Pufficorn hatch, complete with smoke effects and sounds. Afterwards the play gets better and better with a rapport being built up between you and your new pet (who doesn’t, unlike our cat who is off for a likely expensive visit tomorrow, need to ever see a vet)!

Kinetic Sand SquishMotion – £19.99

I LOVE Kinetic Sand – It doesn’t dry out, it cleans up very easily, and the sensory element is just so inviting – I defy anyone to not enjoy cutting a slice from a thickly set roll! This set comes with a squishy sponge in the centre of the box that keeps it all together and this acts as a work station which is also incredibly satisfying to use!

Paw Patrol Rubble’s Bark Yard Deluxe Bulldozer – £44.99

Paw Patrol fans will be over the moon to play with this new set which has everything you need to play at the spin off show from Paw Patrol!

Unicorn Academy Interactive Rainbow Light-up Wildstar – £35.99

We haven’t seen this show on Netflix yet but I’ll be sure to show Posie now because I think this light up unicorn, who needs to establish a relationship with the owner to glow perfectly, is right up her street, Rider dolls and unicorns with rainbow lights – need I say more?!

Hex Bots Wall Crawler Gecko – £29.99

Impressively, this uber Hex Bug can climb up the wall and ceiling with a touch of a button on its remote control – how cool is that?!

And the rest of the best:

Beyblades X Xtreme Battle Set from Hasbro – £44.99

Beyblades are back and this battle station is lots of fun for all ages. I like it when something spans interest between all my children and this one absolutely would. You can buy extension packs with more Beyblades but this set comes with two and the stadium so has all you need for a battle on Christmas Day!

Bluey 3-in-1 Transforming Plane Set by Moose Toys – £59.99

Bluey is the parent’s choice of TV programme, am I right?! SO funny! I love hearing my kiddos small workd play at being Bluey with an Ozzy accent and now you can write a prescription with the aeroplane that becomes a hotel and playground – LOVE it!

Despicable Me 4 The Ultimate Fart Blaster by Moose Toys – £29.99

I have 7 year old and 12 year old boys. need I say more about how suitable I think a fart blaster is?! However, this one blows smoke rings too and it LOOKS like it would be way more expensive than its price tag. You can also buy smaller fart blasters who don’t blow the smoke but make some pretty special bottom noises regardless!

Disney Stitch by LEGO Company – £59.99

Disney fans unite! This Stitch is aimed at older ones to build and love!

FurReal Peanut the Playful Monkey from Just Play Products – £79.99

Does he live up to the price tag? The most expensive on the list?! Well… He’s pretty darn cool I have to say and honestly, I can imagine this being opened on Christmas morning to much excitment. This is a present to remember, to sit in the pub a decade or so from now saying “did you have a Peanut?” and while some will fondly remember the day they opened him, others will sadly say “No… That was the one toy which I was bever bought” (we all have one – I’m looking at you Mr Frosty)!

Hot Wheels Ultra Shark Car Wash playset from Mattel UK – £59.99

Hot Wheels fans will love how this connects to all their other sets and the colour changing cars now have their very own car wash – very cool! It’s a big one, you need some space for this but it’s incredibly good fun!

Icons Tiny Plants from LEGO Company – £44.99

More of a Kid-Adult choice these plants are on all the tween and teen girls lists this year and now with the top toys spot given, you’ll need to run to snap up a set!

Little Live Pets My Walking Penguin – Waddles by Moose Toys – £24.99

LOVED him – SO CUTE! What a great little mate to add to the Little Live Pets collection. I also love the stocking filer sized ones which are inexpensive but super sweet regardless!

Littlest Pet Shop – Pet Shop Playset from Bandai UK – £39.99

Around since 1992 this is a collectors choice and with 60 in the latest collection, the Pet Shop Playset is the toy for the big day to play and display them in!

Miniverse Make It Mini Potions Class by MGA – £49.99

Harry Potter fans will enjoy this set which has all the excellence of the Miniverse invitation, with a Harry Potter twist! Make it, keep it and love it. This set will take around 4 hours to build with different options to choose from in how to do it!

Pets Alive: Mama Duck & Baby Surprise from Zuru – £29.99

It felt odd leaving the ducks, almost like they were real! The Mummy duck has her own hatching station to sit on her eggs and when the chicks are born they follow her as she waddle off, which she loves, because she gets very unhappy when she can’t find them! About half the sets will come with a Golden Egg and a Golden Duck so that would also make Christmas morning extra special. A few eggs have a slime surprise instead too!

RealFX Disney Stitch Puppetronic from Wow Stuff – £69.99

You KNOW we already love this one! Posie has been playing with hers for months and though she was terrified at how “real” he is in the beginning, they’ve formed a bond now. Any Stitch fan will enjoy this one!

Speed Champions Mclaren F1 Race Car from LEGO Company – £20.99

Aimed at 9+ builders this set is also great for grown ups and collectors!

Sticki Rolls Sticki Book Pack by Character Options – £9.99

The least expensive item on the Top Toys list is this excellent bracelet which gifts stickers to adorn the note book it comes with, or indeed, anything else you fancy!

UNO Show ‘Em No Mercy from Mattel UK – £12.99

Oh my goodness this game is BRUTAL! A harder, faster, meaner version of the game we all know and love! If “Show ‘Em No Mercy” is a bit too harsh for you then they also have a “Teams” version whcihwould work well in my family especially, where the big kids are super fast and the little ones want to play but find it hard to keep up!

So… There we have it… Don’t say I didn’t warn you to shop early if you can’t find any of these in store in a couple of weeks!
