On Thursday night I was invited to Kiddicare in Lakeside so that I could attend their Christmas event being held with one of my fave baby mags, Mother & Baby! The invite was open to everyone and all you had to do was register then turn up to be treated to insightful talks from experts on all things baby plus have an exclusive 10% discount on the night!
Kiddicare hold these events from time to time and even laid on a few bubbles (both alcoholic and non for the bumpies in the room) and nibbles! It was a very pleasant way to spend the evening I must say! There were competitions and ladies waiting to pamper with hand massages and nail painting! Who would say no to this, that’s what I’d like to know!
It seems bizarre that Kiddicare and Mother & Baby would hold such an event for FREE and make it so super lovely. The focus wasn’t even on shopping and despite being given a 10% discount to spend on the night there was no hard sell in any direction. I genuinely felt, as I always feel in Kiddicare, that I was just welcome. I mean Kiddicare do all sorts of things for free, they fix your buggy (have talked much about this), put on classes and workshops from time to time and even have a room which can be hired for free. They have a very good philosophy because they are just kind and helpful which in turn makes me want to shop there!
I suppose it’s just like in life, treat others how you wish to be treated! Kiddicare certainly do that!
So we were introduced to the evening by deputy editor of the new look Mother & Baby! I’ve always loved the mag and my blog even had an ‘Askamum’ badge when it was under that umbrella.
This was followed by interesting talks from two mums who just happen to run their own business Bloom & Blossom, a skincare range designed for pregnant women! I love their product because they’re all natural and paraben free, something which I think is important. Loads of creams on the market, even well known brands you might THINK are all natural as so associated with babies, are full of really horrible substances! Bloom and Blossom products are lovely and I like them even more now that I’ve seen the sister in law duo who are the brains behind it!
After this we had talks from midwives both NHS and private and a mini first aid demonstration from the St John’s Ambulance!
It was such an enjoyable evening spent with my good friend Lauren from Mummy Is A Gadget Geek and other lovely bloggers Tia’s Mum 12, Hart Of The Munchkin Patch (whose patch will be one bigger next time I see her), Innocent Charms Chats and Lozzie Hakes.
And with my 10% discount… Well… We needed things so I had to give it a bit of a bashing!
Clothes for Florence!
Gorgeous presents for my friend!
A cute dressing gown for Jimmy!
2 pairs of jeans, a smock top, 3 pairs of tights, a dress and top set for Florence and a wonderful dressing gown for Jimmy which he’s needed for ages! They were all from the Nutmeg range which is really good value and excellent quality. I am VERY picky about what my children wear. Also, my friend’s just had a baby so it would have been rude not to get her a little something don’t you think? He’s been born quite early so I got him a preemie baby grow from the Nutmeg range and a pair of leggings from Poppet (just adorable)! They were both in the sale so I also got him the Poppet star set for when he comes out of hospital… A gorgeous baby grow, blanket and hat! I probably should have got the bib as well!
Can you believe I got all of the above for £68! Wonderful to have the 10% discount and I had a gift card to spend at Kiddicare from something else so it was the perfect way to spend it!
After all that we were even sent home with a goodie bag full of lovely things! Products and skin care, a copy of Mother & baby and even toys for the little ones!
Thanks Kiddicare, a most enjoyable evening indeed!
I have not been paid to write about this post and nor was I asked or expected to. I wanted to write about the evening because it was so well done and very enjoyable.
It was a lovely evening, I have to agree Kiddicare went above and beyond. Sorry we didn’t really get to chat but I wanted to get some shopping in before the boys really got uptight. I love Nutmeg, some gorgeous bits, Deacon had the star set is gorgeous.
I nearly bought the dressing gown for the boys it was so soft x
