Kiddimoto UZoom – Review!

In our house, ever since the Queen’s jubilee when F was really quite tiny, the Union Jack has been known as a ‘Jubilee’. And you have to say it in a really high pitched voice otherwise you’re not saying it right! We were watching the jubilee celebrations on TV and had flags to wave. We’d gone all out and completely got into it despite not really being Royalists as it was more a case of an excuse for a party.

F waved her flag and kept saying ‘Jubilee, Jubilee’ and it was so sweet we somehow all managed to adopt the name for the Union jack and forever more that’s what it’s been known. She even came home from school one day saying ‘People kept telling me that this flag is actually called a Union jack and not a Jubilee, they don’t know do they Mummy!’ I obviously gave a brief explanation but told her that for us, just like we have carbonana, rizania and bscettie (my children seem to have a problem with Italian pasta names) we would always, always, always call it a Jubilee.

So, when Kiddimoto asked if I’d like to choose a design from one of their new U-Zooms for us to try out I asked Jimmy what his top choice would be and we swiftly ordered the ‘Jubilee’ version. A few days ago the delivery arrived and Jimmy was super excited to be given a brand new scooter that he can ride to his new nursery with and you can even get a matching helmet to boot!

He’s only ever had a second hand scooter so this was a really special moment. He’d chosen it, it came just for him and he was so thrilled with it from the moment he saw it in the box.

Jimmy is quite an accomplished scooterer (is that a word?) and he can go very, very fast! I always worry about him but have never been able to get him to wear a helmet until now. For some reason, the fact that it matches has totally lured him in and he’s been absolutely loving whizzing about in our new village. I have to say also that the U-Zoom seems to go up and down kerbs, even really big ones, as if it was made to do so. I can see it would be quite difficult to fall off this one but then if anyone can I’m sure Jimmy is able to a helmet is definitely a good idea!

It’s similar in design to other scooters on the market with two wheels at the front (this is better for their balance) and one at the back. It also has a break where he is used to having one and steers by leaning just as he knows to do. The great thing about this one though is that it folds! Oh how handy it would have been I our previous flat where I used to hang them up over the stairs and anyone coming in had to duck. As it happens we have enough space to store it while it’s up these days but it’s great that we can fold it for the boot of the car and make a space saving there.

Aside from everything else, the practicality and the fun colours it has to be noted, as the highest point of interest as far as Jimmy is concerned, that the wheels light up as you scoot! Oh yeah! Brilliant for our new village where we don’t have any street lamps and an absolutely massive point of jealousy from F who has a regular scooter with regular wheels that don’t light up! Unfortunately I found it very hard to cathc the lights on camera as they didn’t show up on film in day light (in reality you can see them well) and in the darkness it was all a haze. This is a reflection on my camera skills and nothing else I assure you!

Take a look at how good the U-Zoom is in J’s little vlog here!

From design through to decoration the U-Zoom is an absolutely f antastic scooter which will grow with Jimmy as the handle bar can be increased as he gets bigger. It’s absolutely gorgeous to look at while doing the job of scooter brilliantly and he loves it!

Pleased as punch I think we’ll say!

Take a look at the vlog we made where you can see his delight right from the opening to the using! WE HEART THE KIDDIMOTO U-ZOOM!

The U-Zoom Union Jack is priced at £49.99 and the helmet to match costs £26.99 from the Kiddimoto website. Other colour waves are a pinky hued Pastel Dotty and the black and white Skullz version both which can be accessorised with a matching helmet. Kiddimoto are famous for their ride-ons and balance bikes and I have to say they always catch my eye! Everything is so super colourful and bright, perfect for little ones as not only do they love the aesthetics but they’re easy for you to spot them when zooming about in the park!

We were sent the Kiddimoto U-Zoom for the purpose of an honest review.
