For the past two years I have taken the brood to Lollibop, ‘the big bash for little people’ and a proper festival but of the pint sized (in attraction not in size) variety. It is exactly as it says, a full on festival with music and entertaining acts but everything is directed at the tiny ones. There’s a main stage where the big acts like Rastamouse and the Zingzillas have played in the past and all around it are stalls, tents and areas of fun! With activities on offer for children under ten it really is perfect for the whole family and believe me, it’s one of the most magical days out!

Both last year and the year before we had the most sensational time and came away with memories to last a life time! I wrote about Lolli 2011 here and last year here so do take a look and see what a super time we had!

Lollibop 2011 and 2012
Enjoying Lollibop the last two years!

This year, for Lolli’s fourth birthday they are having a move to a new location… and what a location it is too! The past festivals have been held in Regent’s Park which was pretty special but this year, for Lollibop 2013, it’s going to be held in… Drum roll please… The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park! This is the first children’s event to take place in what looks set to become one of the premier event locations in the UK. LolliBop has gone from strength to strength since the first event and the new location gives organisers the opportunity to create an even more exciting and dynamic family day out.

We never managed to secure tickets to the Olympics so haven’t been in the park ourselves and it’s so exciting to think that the first time will be for something as magnificent as Lollibop! I will be writing a count down on my blog just as I did last year and we have already stared talking about and counting down in our house too! It really is the most special day out and even better is that this Friday, 19th April, the Super Early Bird tickets go on sale! For a very limited time individual tickets will be just £15.50 and for a family of four £62! Get in quick! (Babies under 12 months go FREE and there are lots of activities for them too)!

The full line up is coming soon and I will definitely keep you updated as and when I hear news but there are some fab returning acts already signed up for 2013, take a look:

LolliBop Live – playing host to some of the biggest names in kids entertainment, with live music and performances from stars of stage and screen.  Headliners coming soon…

Lollipalladiam – is a live theatre tent showcasing performances from pioneering and internationally renowned companies and artists.

The LolliBop Kitchen where creative little cooks will have the chance to learn new skills from live demonstrations and interactive workshops.

Tween Town will host a number of activities including street dance, hula-hoop, and beat-box workshops.

Imagination Stations – A hub of creativity with lots of mess and mayhem thrown in! From clay modeling, puppet making, customised fashion workshops, balloon modeling, graffiti painting, face painting and much more

Science Zone – Make a rocket, hold a dry ice cube, or get messy with gooey slime in the LolliBop lab – brimming with exploding experiments for pint sized guests to try!

Run wild and have fun in the LolliSports area.  With activities including retro favorites like swingball, hula-hoop and frisbee to football tournaments and sports day style races.

The pre-school 3ft & Under area is also returning, along with the Enchanted Forest and The Village Green with live music, craft stalls and street theatre, making it an ideal spot for a picnic.

Extensive covered buggy parks, baby changing and breast-feeding areas will be available.

They think of everything and once you’re in that’s it for cost! Well, apart from refreshments of course! Face painting, activities and events are all included in your ticket price. If it’s hot or raining you can get sun cream or rain ponchos from the first aid tent… And they even have a creche for adults where you can have a drink of the alcoholic variety – see, told you it’s a festival for everyone!

We honestly have had the most brilliant times at Lolli for the past couple of years and can’t wait to go back this year too – even better now that it’ll be in East London at the exciting venue which saw us win so many gold medals last summer – Go for gold this year too and go to Lollibop 2013!
